I wonder what finally triggered that leaf plate idea in India. At some point the place is choking in all kinds of waste, including plastics. At least that's how India is typically being portrayed.
@gamingshortT007 Жыл бұрын
@@zachvanwolf2123 Nothing triggered it. It was part of culture in India, banana, banyan, jackfruit , sal, dhak ,bauhinia leaves etc… were used to make pattal(leaf utensils) but the globalisation happens and plastic and styrofoam utensils captures market as they are promoted as more “civilised” option as compared to utensils made out of leaf (they were shamed for being primitive…or so was the intention of marketing non-biodegradable utensils) and they were almost out of the market except for small towns/cities… but as peoples are trying to be more “green” they are being promoted as some sort of novelty😂.

As an American, the ending of this really made it for me. The "melting pot" culture becomes toxic, and seeing you embrace the historic and religious significance of other cultures makes me realize how big the world is, and how small my mindset can sometimes be. I just gazed at the river. In terms of immersing oneself in a culture. You are the one to do it. I admire that. Those Lassis are SOOOO good. I never tried bread baked on cow dung. They say "Varanasi is a city even before the history started". Many invaders from other parts of the world tried to takeover this city for 1000s of years but couldn't. It is a city of the Gods themselves. The culture, traditions, the people and the food are the most mesmerizing things in Varanasi. It is a belief that if you go to Varanasi and take a dip in the river - Mother Ganga, your 7 births of bad karma is washed out. A must visit for every human.

If you go to Mizoram, plan to stay for Saturday (Market day) and Sunday (Church day with traditional clothings). Its an unforgotten part of India and i promise, you won't regret it

city of Varanasi is at least 15000 years old and continuously inhabited. they talked about certain celestial happening. those happenings have been confirmed today happened over 15,000 years ago. and there is iconographic proof of something like 12400 years of the city. it is associated with adiyogi or Shiva who created yoga, spirituality, tantra and meditation-quite different to what west perceives them.
