@@debjyotidutta6287 those restaurants serve dishes similar to home cooked old recipes. Thts why they are famous. Again in most of modern families member do not cook authentic recipes now a days, they dont cook at all. We have lost so many bengali foods. Even simplest ones. These are already in "video content only" dishes. Like "we used to have" kind. Thts why these restaurant charge more. If you are really getting authentic bengali dishes at home, then you are really lucky. For me though, aloo bada, dry bread, tea, eggs, chips, biscuits, cigarette are daily dish to eat. And chicken chicken n chicken without recipe. Chicken in hot water with ginger and onion in it.

This time you got the true representative of Bengali food walk, he took you to all the right places and gave a glimpse of the correct items with the backgrounds. A small addendum- the last Jalebi is what we Bengalis call 'Amriti'- a close cousin of Jilipi. And yes- for Bengalis- it's JILIPI- Not Jalebi. Many won't understand Bengalis, and may feel surprised with the guide, but that doesn't matter. We know who we are. Very nice food exploration.
