I had many Armenian friends growing up in Iraq. When I was 13 I moved to Australia, my first friend here was Armenian too. I was pretty suprised that they had no idea of Armenian Iraqis. I'd love to go back to Iraq it's been 13 years too long.

I was born in Baghdad and lived there until I was almost 7. I remember some of the foods you ate. We would go out to get kahi and geymar on Saturday or Sundays, and it was soooo good. I remember having torshi, also so good. I didn't care for the half and half dates. The unripe portion was bitter to me. Other favorites of mine that maybe you had while you were there, were tashreeb, khoubiz, and dibis. That's so awesome you visited Baghdad. I hope to make a visit back in a few years.

Good morning David. I barely got in on the 'live' chat but I just watched the replay. So, finally, Iraq series is here. Great start. It's so nice to see how these people and the city of Bagdad have survived after all that Iraq has been through: the Iran/Iraq war and Bush's invasion of Iraq and their own internal problems. But I digress. No more politics. They sure love sugar and sweets. A diabetic's no-no. I love the flatbread but without all that sugary syrup. Interesting way they prepare and cook their food but it all look delicious. As for the market, you can find almost everything you need but how do you choose. An abundance of products. And how about those coppersmith artisans making all that copperware, fascinating. So nice seeing Tasos. Just did a 'live' chat with him earlier this morning. He was at the airport in Lisbon waiting to fly to Ghana. He looked well. So, David, you know how anxious I was waiting for this series and you didn't disappoint. So looking forward to the next video. I deployed to Iraq 3 different times, 15 months once and 12 months two other times. One thing I will say is I miss the food, and the very kind people who live there. I really want to go back as a tourist and visit the places that I had the opportunity to serve in. They’re some of the most generous, kind, and loving people I’ve ever met
