This is my opinion. There is no such thing as an intellectual theft unless you've got a patent. My uncle, in the 1950s, found that out. People are hired for their knowledge. I dont believe in conspiracies, but more is going on here.

Obviously, 1) the intellectual property from Andretti was nearly worthless, and 2) Rahal Letterman made NO beneficial use of this property.

Those are two different things. RLL has been hiring - and losing - engineers for years. I don't think they are capable of using good info.

I did not have this on my offseason bingo card.

Disagree about not solving problems part. This is similar to the Houston Astros and St Louis Cardinals a few years back. From Wikipedia: "Chris Correa, former St. Louis Cardinals scouting director, was permanently banned on January 30, 2017, for his role in hacking the Houston Astros' scouting database to provide the Cardinals with a competitive edge in scouting. The Cardinals were also ordered to pay the Astros $2 million in restitution, and forfeited their top two picks in the 2017 draft to the Astros. Correa was later sentenced to 46 months in prison for unauthorized access of a protected computer, thus becoming the first person to be incarcerated for activities that resulted in a ban from the game."

This like spygate in f1 years ago between McLaren and Ferrari?
@maxairauto1Ай бұрын
Personal opinion if they were using this information and cheating it should have some points penalty if it can be proved. As RLL barely made leader circle this year and should not get that monetary benefit if they cheated.

Spygate Indycar version?

Sounds like a raid on Newgarden’s push to pass button is forthcoming.

Andretti and Rahal have hated each other for decades.
@mikehergenroether6160Ай бұрын
I suspect this is a trade secret issue and we'll find out how high up knowledge of this issue went in the Rahal chain of command. I'm hoping someone at Rahal sounded the alarm, prompting the investigation. I suspect that is not the case.

RLL hired the Andretti (Senior) engineer for reasons. I think Bobby/Graham knew all about it. Or should have.
@bradrock7731Ай бұрын
Never been a fan of Bobby as a team owner & can't stand Letterman. This could be fun.
@MrHappyMickeyАй бұрын
I can't even name any "senior engineer" that left Andretti to join RLL recently

Bobby did you a favor by blocking you on Twitter. He created more exposure for you than a ton of advertising could have accomplished.

I feel like Indycar is trying to take notes from NASCAR in how to get more eyeballs on the sport lol

At least NASCAR hasn't had government involvement in 4 years...all the controversy there has been around on track related.

@@PaperBanjo64 And how many agents were involved over a garage door pull? 😂😂😂😂😂😂

@T.N.D.88 10? I can't remember, and even the FBI said it was just a garage pull
