Looks good, i like the authenticity of the firing pin on the hammer but kinda prefer transfer bars for safety

Very nice, SAA. To me, the 73 with a 4 3/4 barrel is the best balanced and easiest pointing revolver ever made. I dont have any experience with a pietta SAA, but having 4 clicks and a hammer mounted firing pin. I like it much more the uberti. That revolver would look really good with a set of ivory Imitation grips.

It even has the period-correct firing pin on the hammer. Cool! That's a beautiful tool. Have fun with it and invite us along.

That is one nice looking revolver. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Many thanks as always.

Dustin, another wonderful video. I own 1873 45LC and 357magnum 1873 Davidson Exclusive convertible revolvers. I love them. I just pick up a Rossi r92 45-colt 16 inch barrel, large loop lever, and saddle ring. Also very smooth.

Thanks for sharing. My own SAA pride is a Uberti Taylor's-Tuned Smoke Wagon in .357 Magnum, also with the 4.75" barrel. I chose this caliber because I already had ammunition that could be used in it and didn't want to start another caliber hunt yet. The Smoke Wagon I have is the older version, with a period-correct firing pin and four-click hammer. Drawing that hammer back feels like what I imagine drawing a hot quality knife through melting butter would. It's a great and solid shooter, absorbing Magnum loads more easily than either of my double-action revolvers in .357 do. Enjoy your time with that Pietta. ;-)

Beautiful revolver. I have a question. When Pietta and Uberti are chambered in 357 mag. Can they handle full power 357mag +P ammo?

Huge fan of nickel plated handguns... so much so that I learned how to do it myself at home now. so far only my black powder Colt cap and ball clones tho. I have an older Uberti 1873 in the 4 3/4" 'gunfighter length. I ordered mine in 44 spl which I am not sure they even offer anymore but I am not a huge fan of the 45 Colt round and already have lots of 44 mag guns and molds to make bullets. Not looking to make a 44 mag out of it so my handloads are a 250 grain bullet at around 800-850 fps. pleasant and VERY accurate

Very good really like the nickle plating.
@mherod518 ай бұрын
Pietta makes a very nice pistol and hasn't gotten into the transfer bar SAs like it's Uberti cousin. I believe you'll love the balance of the 4 3/4 in just handling the gun, let alone spinning it. As for the nickel, it'll always be an eye catcher. All of my SAs are nickel or polished stainless.

while im generally not a fan of shiny guns ,this one is beautiful.I may end up having to spend some more money and look one of these up

Nickel finish is really nice for black powder loads. It cleans up easy and i believe nickel is more resistant to pitting thats common with black powder loads. Nice pistol!

Might want to mention type of ejector rod head, beveled front of cylinder. Does it use cast or forged internal parts.. is the frame forged or cast

I would consider one of these. Always been a big Uberti fan.

Thanks Dustin for such an informative report on this latest Pietta gun. My concern is that Pietta seems to have dropped wooden grips in favour of plastic ones. Just my opinion but that ruins its appearance for me despite the work that went into it regarding all the other parts😕! I am a great fan of your broadcasts and look forward to the next 😉!
@mikemuhlbach29518 ай бұрын
The plastic grip give me a better grip and faster draw. Weren't the Colts originally with rubber grips. The polymer grips remind of the original.
@KevinTownsend-hw5ih8 ай бұрын
It is a shame they don't take the small effort it would take to clean up the casting gates on the side of the trigger. To me that cheapens the look of what appears to be a decent reproduction. My first thought was , that is something you on a toy gun.
@wu37058 ай бұрын
I also noticed what I would consider blemishes as well. If you watch the video closely you will see what may be a casting mark on the left side of the trigger (what you noted as well). Also the gap between the frame and the grips on the upper side. I also don't like seeing how they plated over the rough finish of the frame without polishing it first. I only watched the video once and I want to rip this gun a new one due to the defects I did notice. I'm not going to watch it a second time as it pains me to know those guys could have put forth just a little bit of effort and could have made something really nice. I agree with you 100% on your comment. Just imagine what we didn't see.

I have a GWII 4 3/4 CC frame that's a US Marshal edition in 45 Colt/45 ACP. It has the 4 click hammer and a very smooth action. I'm curious how their nickel plating will hold up over time and use. I have a Beretta Stampede that's polished stainless that is beautiful but has the transfer bar safety.

Is it possible for you to compare the Pietta with the Taurus Deputy in a video ? Does the Pietta have a lifetime warranty as I believe all Taurus products do? All my BP Piettas are top quality so perhaps a warranty isnt really needed. Im going to buy one or the other. My New model Vaquero has issues Im going to let it go, I should have never sold my original Vaquero.

I would love to see disassembly/reassembly videos for this one, AND the last Taurus model that you showed us. I'm sure the process is similar, but different manufacturers seem to have miniscule differences. OH! and I'm sure this (....and the last Taurus model) take BOTH blackpowder AND smokeless powder.....correct??
