I've been ordering tea from David's tea for a while and I can't believe I waited this long to get a tea press! I was super confused to how it works from just reading about it so I'm glad this video exists. :)

I watched this video and it convinced me to by a David's Tea Press. It arrived a few days ago and I love it. I have been trying to find a simple system to help me drink more green tea from loose leaves throughout the day and this is so easy to use and clean. Really glad I found this video.

Cool video 😁 Random question: Do you know if the lid for the carry on mug would fit on the top lock travel mug (do you know if they are the same size)?

Hi Dana! I’ve recently discovered your channel as I am new to loose leaf teas. My preference are tea lattes. I was wondering if it’s possible to make iced tea lattes using the tea press? I just bought the iced tea press from David’s Tea and wanted to know if I can make iced tea lattes in them!
@DanaDeStefano3 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the loose tea obsession! For a latte, I like to use 4 DT perfect spoons of tea, and less water than usual to make it extra concentrated. I'm not sure if 4 ps will fit in the bottom of the tea press and still be able to press down all the way, but if your tea fits or you use less than that, you'd just want to fill the water about halfway up to the first fill line and then top with ice as normal. It should work! Hope this helps!

I got one of these tea presses recently, the pink one that says “Be The Spark” and I love it. I noticed that you said it’s not leak proof but out of curiosity while I had tea in mine and the lid on securely i flipped it upside down and it didn’t leak at all. Of course I wouldn’t put it in my bag though but it does seem kind of leak proof, like it wont spill out if you tip it over.
@DanaDeStefano6 жыл бұрын
It's possible that they've improved the design, since the one in this video is the first version they released. I did try flipping it upside down and burned my hand with the hot tea 😭 I personally wouldn't call it leak proof unless I felt totally fine to throw it in a bag. Thanks for watching!! 💖

@@DanaDeStefano Yeah I was thinking about that, mine seems a bit bigger than yours does in your video too so it could be a different "model". Love the video btw, very helpful information. ^^

I've been looking for something for my boss who loves her tea but is always on the go and I came across this product. I am intrigued but still a bit confused. Say it takes a few hours for her to finish her tea, won't it be a bit on the bitter side by the end given the loose leaf tea, although not "steeping", is still technically sitting in the water at the bottom?
@mbbeautea69863 жыл бұрын
I actually love my tea press but I got mine way after they were popular and had launched. It was a gift from my boyfriend now husband and really he could have bought gold hoops and wouldn’t have gotten the same use. I love it so much. He bought me the black ont with the gold & silver cheetah print. I bought the lavender last year. I use them when I go to work and when I take my baby for walks

How does the steeping stop, but the water still comes through? Oversteeping can cause tea to get bitter on my trip to work. Speaking from experience.

the water and leaves are still in the bottom...how does the tea stop steeping if its still in there?
@DanaDeStefano6 жыл бұрын
Cecilia Navas It's like a french press. Honestly, I don't understand the physics of it, but when you press it down, it traps an air bubble under the mesh and it's completely seperate from the liquid above the mesh, so it doesn't continue to steep.
@ravenfire13136 жыл бұрын
Question about this press, since I'm trying to decide whether to buy one! :) Does it seem like it would be a bad idea to put an iced coffee latte in this? I had been using a regular DT travel mug as a multipurpose coffee/tea mug and not really using the tea strainer much since it just stayed too hot for me after brewing; unfortunately the latch top broke recently so I'm looking for something I can use for multiple types of drinks, but the idea of quickly making iced tea also appeals to me.

I don't see any issue with using the tea press to drink a coffee latte. It should work!

Okay I realize I'm a YEAR late to this party and no it was a hype let down last year. My daughter just bought me the tea press travel kit 2018 and was shocked when I put it on it's side( in my hand over a sink) to see if it would leak it didn't leak but it popped out so there's that, but the cooler the liquid became and went down in volume it stopped popping out. Point I'm glad you said it wasn't leak proof or I would have thought I had a bad one MERRY CHRISTMAS DANA thank you for all the tea reviews all year!!!! 😘🎄

I have 2 ice tea presses personally I love them but I find them really hard to clean :( When it comes to hot tea I use my basket from my Nordic mug in my 12 oz rose gold tumbler and take it to work with me that way :)
@DanaDeStefano6 жыл бұрын
missrodeocanada me I actually do it that way too! Honestly, I rarely ever use the tea press. Metal basket infusers are the best way to make tea in my opinion. They never break, they're easy to clean and simple to use. I'll use the steeper for iced teas or lattes but otherwise nothing beats the basket!

So I have a tea press and I really like it but I have problems with it. Sometimes when I'm putting the plunger part in it is really hard to push in and then the water ends up coming up between the inner and outer wall of the mug and tea goes everywhere. Any tips to prevent this. It can be super annoying, totally ruins my morning
@DanaDeStefano5 жыл бұрын
That's the worst! Do you leave the lid off when you push it down? If you have the lid closed, the pressure is stuck in there and won't release. I know some people have had this problem even without the lid, and I think it's unfortunately just a fault in the product. I'd recommend trying to wear it in, like keep pushing it in and pulling it out with no tea in it to try to wear in the seal. Once it's been used more and is less ridged it might help prevent that. Hopefully this helps! That sounds like an awful way to start the day :(

I have the exact same problem with mine. It started being hard to push after I had been using it awhile. Hopefully, the next generation will be better.

I have one of these and it’s definitely not worth the hype especially since they don’t tell you that the useless friggen thing leaks when you buy it, so guess what happened to me? Spilled tea everywhere. Pretty useless is a container to hold tea that friggen leaks.
@DarkDraega5 жыл бұрын
I should also add, I can easily buy another product that hold’s your tea and tea leaves that doesn’t leak for easily $15 less so in my honest opinion I rate it a 2/10 It only gets 2 because it holds tea. The -8 is because the lid is ridiculous and when the tea leaks you burn yourself. Pretty stupid design if you ask me.
@vitaquasus11206 жыл бұрын
Mine is unbelievably difficult to take apart, the sleeve will not slide out. Both inner and outer parts are plastic, and the style is a jug. Do not buy the jug press it's garbage.
