I'm really surprised that a section of mullein stalk is substantial enough for a drill. That is awesome! I always learn something new from your videos. When the zombie apocalypse happens I wanna be in YOUR tribe! Thanks again for the edjamakation.

I've used Mullein for bow drill spindle a lot down through the years. Thanks!

David, Ive been watching you for a while and I love your videos. They are informative and not full of pointless chatter like many others. I also appreciate that you explain reality of success of techniques off camera- (example- not all fire drill attempts result in embers like other "experts" make it seem). Keep making great videos!

LOL! I bet your roommates get a tad nervous when you, the "Fire Whisperer" start filming in the living room! Mine gets nervous when I'm watching your videos and I say, "WOW! I have to try that too!"🤣 Great video as ussual!👍

RE that reverse twisting, I wonder if you could just put your foot on one end as a holding vise and put the other end in your reversible drill motor? Even use an eye bolt. (You know, do one half, then the other and then the two together)(I'm talking hobbyist, not out in the woods / survivalist) Here's another thought, how about a loaf of bread plastic bag (Soft N Good)? Just throwing some ideas around. I'm an old electrician and some time in my life we used a drill motor to wind something and I can't remember what the use was - shoot, I'm so old it could have been to wind the rubber in a model airplane or maybe it was something to do with amateur radio :)

See my other grocery bag bowstring videos. Just twisting it up is all that's necessary.

In a life or death situation you can also use tiny amounts of Mullien seed to fish. In normal circumstances it's highly illegal so keep that in mind. About a pinch of ground seed will paralyze nearby fish for a short while. Make sure to wash your hands well after this. The dried leaf can also be brewed in a tea (rather sweet tasting) to be used as an expectorant for chest congestion. The flowers are amazingly useful for ear infections when dried and leached into olive oil. But, this is a biannual plant so best to collect when you can and not to overdue it.

I've tried the fish thing and could never see any results. Nor have I ever talked to someone who has actually successfully used it. Myth or no??

Probably the best Plastic Bag Cordage video I have ever seen. No one else makes them by using a single bag! Thanks so much for this video!

That is a great length of cordage from that plastic bag. We don't have mullen around here. Is it a pithy stalk?
