For context, the "69" is the number set for the difficulty, which usually ranges from 0 - 6 for charts meant to be taken seriously. Notes that are transparent are tap notes, you can strum them if you need to but you can also just use the frets. Notes that have a glowing top are hopos, or hammer-ons and pull-offs, which allow you to jump to the note without strumming it if the note before it was hit successfully. Some charts have hopo notes chained together, which can be played without the strum bar, but be warned, if you miss a note while doing it, you'll have to strum another note to continue to use them that way. The purple bars are notes that have no fret and are purely the strum bar. One thing to also do is also adjust your note speed settings (I personally choose 12 myself), adjust your calibration, and even turn on "no fail" if you want to use it. Frankly, the challenge of potential failure excites me, so I always have failing enabled. Honestly though, you did pretty well all things considered, you took to the game relatively quickly.

@@KindredBrujah Got to look at it from a gamer perspective and not a musician. Musician doesn't understand why notes are charted when note isn't being played. Gamer perspective understands you need to keep the player engaged and tickle the part of the brain where you get that endorphin high by providing them a challenge that they can overcome, so if music is going, they are a part of that music, even if not from their instrument.
@BadgerOff322 жыл бұрын
@@KindredBrujah The worst game for that was the Green Day Rock Band game. Most Green Day songs are pretty easy in real life. You just need to hold a few chords and strum in a certain pattern, but I guess they figured that would be too dull to play over the course of an entire game. So pretty much every song had all these extra bits and non-existent fills and chord transitions to try and make it 'more interesting' and harder, but it just made it really frustrating for me. I could play all of the songs on a real guitar and all those extra fiddly bits were completely unnecessary and made it feel like I wasn't even playing the song!

There is no "correct maps" these are all made by people trying to transfer a song from a 24 fret instrument to a 5 button rhythm game, if you can make a better map for these charts then let me know.

As someone who grew up playing the bass line on Rock Band for the PS3, I can see what's throwing you off. You're trying to hit the frets at the same time as the strum bar, which those controllers suck at registering; you have to hold the fret buttons down first, for the entire note, and strum when the note crosses the line, or the latency will make one or the other not register with the game. My theory is that the controllers couldn't handle inputs from both button types at once, so one of the inputs gets dropped if you try to press both at the same time. The game is reading that you either aren't strumming in time, or you don't have all the fret buttons pressed down when you strum, either of which counts as a wrong note in the game code.
