I started tying about maybe 14 years ago when I was 18. I remember someone in Glasgow angling centre recommending your videos at the time and they really helped me. I stopped tying for a number of years but watching this has gotten me back in the mood to pick the rod up again and tie some flies! Hope the stuff in the shed is okay 😂

Lol. Yep that’s quite a bit bigger midge than our 28 to 32’s. That’s the size of our Green Drakes. Still learn something every time. Your back technique is great. I’ll be using that for sure.

Hi Davie, Another good Diawl Bach variant - as you say these fly patterns are so versatile as the represent many different species. Regards, Wayne

Hi Davy AGAIN 😄, I'm trying to fill a box o Diawls so how fortunate I'm at my break and this pops up. Lovely fly with AGAIN some nice tips on not touching head to press it down and black seals fur too. My question to you and I hope you don't mind. I've always tied Biots in pointy end to the end of the hook but notice you do it thick end. Is there any particular reason . I once bought Diawls at Mentieth on the eve of a comp from the shop and it was pointy end first. Ofcourse I had a good night on them so always tied them that way. Cheers Davy once again. I'm tying yhem TODAY 😄

When I tie these, once I've caught a fish the tail disappears as I seem to catch fish right on the top lip, should I glue it on? Thanks, great video.
