Hi Everyone, I'm sorry about the date in the video as it was the 21st of April not May as I was talking to the good lady about something we are doing on the 21st of May so I must have typed it in because of this well that's my excuse....Now I understand the comment left ,not to wish my life away🤣😂🤣 All the very best Davie..

Great to see you back out on the Doon, excellent footage as usual. The filming and fishing are brilliant, but it's your commentary thats educational,entertaining and quite often comical. I mean when you got the fly stuck in the tree and you said, I'm going up to get the fly I don't want to lose it. Are you running short on flies 😂 Thoroughly enjoyed. Cheers 👍

Nice to watch Davie. I don't feel too bad now having hooked my first trout on the 26th of March in the rain on the dry on the Alyn in North Wales. Not a lot of fun since until this week as the river has been pretty much back in spate since. April showers as you say. How much line do you have from the bend of the dry to the olive nymph?

What x is your tapered leader davie ? Also why do people use an extra 9 ft of tippet off a 9 ft tapered leader ? Is there any need for that ?
@DavieMcPhail7 ай бұрын
Hi Jamie, I was using a 5x tapered leader which can easily be fished as it is though I like to add about 3 foot of a 5x or lighter tippet which will extend the life of the tapered leader..I will also at times tie on a length of tippet off the bend of the dry fly to fish a wet or weighted nymph in the dry dropper method when things are quiet as you may have saw me ding in some of my fishing videos... All the very best Davie..
