I did enjoy it Davie... thank you. I keep meaning to try some of your other yellow/brown caddis patterns and never seem to get around to it. I've been tying the yellow peacock with brown flexi-floss one for years now... catches fish really well... fun to tie. MIght try this one just to see... but then again... maybe not. =] Mike

Great info on the seal’s fur. I have several packets that came from old military jackets. I haven’t used it at all because it’s expensive and new seal’s fur isn’t legal in the US. Now I’m promising myself to blend some and give it a go. Thanks

And do you ever use goat? I love the stuff other than the actual dubbing.

Sorry big fingers getting in the way. I tied a Caddis pattern very similar to your colouring and shape. I used a small rubber band stretched for the yellow rib part and black wool for the thorax and legs. They worked a treat and still catch today but I'll certainly try this pattern. Thanks, stay well, Big Davie

Mega Thx for all your videos ! They’re really helping those of us just learning how to tie flies. I noticed what looked like a small flattened area on your finger that I presume is what you’re waxing your thread with. If it is, what brand or type is it and is that method easier or better than the standard cylinder of tying wax that is generally sold at fly shops?

Hi hirkojs, I have attached a link to a video I made on the wax that I use and how I prepare it for using..I'm glad you enjoy the videos and thank you for the kind words.. All the very best Davie.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3-Xf2xofJZnjsk

The first time I saw the wax on Davie’s finger, i didn’t know it was wax. I thought it was some kind of odd growth or blister.

I like this pattern. It looks like it would fish very well. What bobbin are you using? It seems like it puts on thread really nice and smooth. I'm sure it's all you and not the bobbin. I've always enjoyed watching your tie videos for so many years now. It's so inspiring as always.

Morning PNom Adventures, I use a Tiemco heavy duty ceramic bobbin holder and I bought my first one in 1990 and I am still using it today so they have stood me well over the years...All you have to do is slightly bend the arm so that this allows the thread to run smoothly as this is very important with most bobbin holders..I did a video on them a few years ago so I have attached a link to it and as well to the bobbin holder so I hope this helps you, I'm also glad you liked fly...
