Thank you very much, I love the way you made this tutorial, not just running explaining, but repeating so for people like me that are new on this program and editing too, to understand and do it ourselves, what I like too you did very good was started very simple and slowly went putting more details and complicated it, that didn't look so bad. Appreciated very much.

I am doing this and also adding some cropping and yaw rotation so the presenter is just a square with a slight tilt in the corner. I want to all these keyframes to be eased in and out and I hit some snags that I don't have in Premiere. Just look at the position keyframe; there are four keyframes, right; the initial position (1), the new position (2), the point to begin animating back to 1 (3), and the original position (4). I'm finding when you ease the position keyframes the PIP video will float around in between keyframes 2 and 3 and not be locked in place. On keyframe 2, I can only 'ease in and out', not just 'ease in'. So there are bezier handles on both sides of keyframe 2 (and keyframe 3). I cannot lock the position of the PIP between keyframes 2 & 3. Additionally, it is difficult to keep the PIP video on a straight line when easing both the Position and Zoom properties. The PIP scales down in a smooth zigzag path, I want a straight path, that's just eased at the beginning and end. It's like, even though Zoom and Position have the same generic easing (the default easing) the zoom still eases in and out faster than the position does. I do not have this problem applying default eases to keyframes in Premiere. I am new to Resolve, so I admit I could be missing something, but I wanted to see if anyone else is having this issue.

Da Vinci is more easier to use than Lightworks. Thank you very much for making this videos. I learn a lot from you since day 1😊

Thank you for this. Is there a way to create a border around the PIP image or video?

When I do this I'm unable to move my picture to certain parts of the screen like the top right or left. Is there any reason why I wouldn't be able to move my picture into certain parts of the screen?

In this PiP, how do I crop out the background of the presenter so that just he overlays on the keyboard (without the grey background)?
@techismad4 жыл бұрын
Do you mean like green screening the background out?

I’d love to have a drop shadow on the pip. In adobe premiere this was easy, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do that here in divinci.
@techismad3 жыл бұрын
It's actually quite easy. 1) Setup the PIP clip and make sure it's size and position is correct. 2) Open up the effects library, and then click on OpenFX. 3) Scroll down the list of OpenFX effects, and find the section called ResolveFX Stylize. 4) Drag the Drop Shadow effect (it's the 3rd one in that section) onto your PIP clip. 5) In your Inspector panel, a new tab called "OpenFX" will appear. You can now adjust all the parameters of the drop shadow, such as intensity, distance and angle. The best thing is that all the parameters are animatable, so you can do some really cool effects with drop shadows as well!

@@techismad wow! Awesome! Thank you for the help. We just started using Divinci a week ago, and are a little lost on some of the menus. So far, it’s been a solid program.

Is there a possibility to make some drop shadow of this picture in picture ? Also cool would be to make some frame.

That's actually a cool idea - I'll look into it!

When I add another video layer (V2) to use PiP, the Blanking Fill effect on V1 simply disappears. Is there an workaround?
@techismad4 жыл бұрын
What is the blanking full effect?

I can't figure out why it's not working for me. It's not revealing the image underneath... just black. Anyone know what I'm talkin about?
@techismad3 жыл бұрын
Do this - set up your green screen so that it is working perfectly. Right click on that clip and then make it into a compound clip. Give it a name. Look in your video clips and that compound clip will be there. You can now use this compound clip in the place of the green screen clip you were using, and you can resize it and do whatever to it without the black appearing. I think the problem is that once you green screen out clip, everything under that clip is ignored.

How Can i crop advanced shapes picture in picture?
@techismad3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean you want your PIP to be a shape? Like a circle?

It was - I've never used the paid version. Actually the free version is better than most other software's paid version!

Good video, but I am having some problems with that. When I try to move the picture (lets say for this example the man) it stays with the picture (picture of the keyboard) so if i try to make the image of the man smaller, the image of the keyboard then does the same thing. The problem with this is now my video is small and with a black background. If you need more specifics i'll give it to you. Thank you!
@techismad4 жыл бұрын
Hey friend, I might need more specifics on this one. I tried hard to recreate this problem but couldn't. Just to be clear, you've got two video tracks, and you're making the top video smaller (to make it picture in picture), but instead both your video tracks are getting smaller?
@skycia69114 жыл бұрын
@@techismad ohhh i figured out why it wasn't working. I have three tracks (top to bottom: green screen vid, music, and then its the original clip that will stay in place). I noticed I can only make the music vid smaller or larger. I was trying to move the green screen video to make it smaller and larger. I 'll just have to move the music track to the green screen track so that I can change the size for the green screen track. Thank you for the vid!
@skycia69114 жыл бұрын
actually its because its a green screen. I am pretty sure you know how to do a green screen, but when I press the button to invert the image, it does what I told u in the first comment
@skycia69114 жыл бұрын
idk what to do actually
@skycia69114 жыл бұрын
like i would zoom it in and all the stuff, but then the background of the vid is green so when I try to do the option for the green screen, then it just shows the vid with the green screen

My top image is green-screened. Is that why it's not working?

I got it working by using a power box. It's the thing right next to the dropper in the color area.
