Hello. Video was helpful, but I'm trying to keep my text static as the line tracks, is there a way to do that? How about making the text TEXT+ text so I can put a background in (hard to see text if background is bright)?
@DigitalVectorStudios2 жыл бұрын
Open the call-out text in the Fusion Page (right-click, select open in Fusion page). Double click on the Callout node to expand it. Select the Text Node and go to the Shading tab in the inspector. Under properties, the opacity is animated by default. Just remove the animation or adjust to your liking. To see the text better you can do a few things. Use the Pull down labeled select elements. Go to 2 and click the checkbox Enabled. Change the color to black and increase the thickness. That will help to separate the text from a light background. If you would rather have a background behind the text go to Select element 4 and check the enabled box. Change the color and opacity to blend. Under level you will probably want to change that to to line instead of character.

Great explanation, for the most part. I''m using Davinci 18, and my callouts don't appear in like yours does. It's just there from beginning to end. But I only want the callout to last for a few seconds. How do I have the callouts appear and disappear at certain points in my video?

Add the callout to an Adjustment clip instead of the main clip. Then you can make the callout as short or long as you like.

Hello! I am trying this tutorial, however my callout won't appear in the viewer. I have scrubbed through, tried it multiple times and nothing helps. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
@skycrafts51402 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video I'm asking lots of people who have done the same type of video the same question. Why is the callout I'm using, with the same method, not working properly. It doesn't 'form' it just appears fully established with the line already present instead of the line growing towards a particular point. I'f I just add it in 'editing' mode on the time line, it's fine. But tracking in fusion looses the line growth at the beginning.
@DigitalVectorStudios2 жыл бұрын
Your computer is likely trying to process the graphics. Try to render it out in the Delivery page it should animate. The only other reason would be if you shorten the length of the callout text less than the 5 second default.
@skycrafts51402 жыл бұрын
@@DigitalVectorStudios Thanks I'll try a render and see if it works. I haven't changed the length of the call-out, and the media it is applied to is longer than 5 seconds. Thanks for your reply.
@skycrafts51402 жыл бұрын
I tried rendering it out on the delivery page, on a clip longer than 5 seconds. It made no difference. There is still no animation of the callout. I've used the tracker in your video and I've also used a planar tracker demonstrated in other videos - same result. The callout animates fine if added in the edit page, but obviously it won't track. It's been very frustrating.
@DigitalVectorStudios2 жыл бұрын
Sounds very frustrating. Try a few things. While in the Fusion Page, make sure the callout text output goes into the foreground (green) connector on the Tracker node. The Tracker node should be set to match-move. Open the Keyframes (upper right). Expand the Callout. Make sure the Line1 bar is the full width of your text comp. You can also open all the nodes for the callout. Double click to do so. Select the Polygon1, Bitmap_5 and Line1 nodes one at a time. In the Inspector open the controls of each by double clicking on the name of the node. You can display each node in a window to see what it’s doing. When you open Line1, check to make sure the global in/out are not shortened so some reason.

PLS HELP. I did everything as described here. The tracking and everything else works BUT for some odd reason it disables the call out animation. So in my video the call out just "pops in" really sudden and it looks terrible without the animation transition. Thing is the call out animation is there, even in the free version of resolve, if im not using the tracking function.

Thanks for the tutorial ! How do you move the start/end of the Call Out in order to appear in the middle of the clip ? I try moving the keyframe of the Callout Template but everything messed up and it disapear forever. I'll have to write my own :-(
@DigitalVectorStudios2 жыл бұрын
There’s a couple ways to do that. When the callout shows up can be controlled by the tracker. You can manually delete the tracking data. The text call-out animation will start at the beginning of the tracking data. Otherwise select the call-out text and open it in the fusion page. Expand the nodes and edit the text node to set the in-out points.
@MrSako992 жыл бұрын
@@DigitalVectorStudios This is exactly what I also try to do, but continuously failing. I would like to let the callout animation start at frame 80 of the video. Deleting the tracker data will stop the call out from any movement. Changing "Global In/Out" in the text nodes within the call out makes the "KeyframeStretcher1" within the callout red and the media out is freezing. Do you have another clue how to do that? DR18 Studio 🙂
@MrSako992 жыл бұрын
After hours of trying I found the issue! 😀 To change the starting point and create new keyframes for the Callout, you have to maintain the exact length of the clip in the "KeyframeStretcher1"-node. Preset is frame 0 to 120, I had to extend it to 0 to 434 frames. Now everything works as intended. 🙂

Hello any tips for getting the call out to animate? I’m following your steps but the text is not animating the line and fading in like yours is.
@DigitalVectorStudios3 жыл бұрын
Two tips. First, if you are just looking at the preview, the elements may not be cached yet. Try rendering out a sample to see if it’s working. Second, the default animation is 5 seconds. If you shorted the length of the call out text, the animation will not be as apparent. Check your clip length to see if it’s 5 seconds or more.
@jay34123 жыл бұрын
@@DigitalVectorStudios thanks. I figured out that even though I had trimmed my clip in the edit page, the fusion page still shows the entire un-cut clip. So the fusion call out gets dropped into the beginning of the clip in the fusion timeline. when played back, fusion only plays the cut portion of the clip which ends up being after the callout animation occurs. I have to manually move the key frames to make the animation visible . Is there a better way to force fusion to drop the template only into the cut portion of the clip?
@DigitalVectorStudios3 жыл бұрын
Put it on another timeline. Then bring the second timeline into your master timeline. Then you can manipulate it like a video clip in any way you want (cut, retime, etc)

It is slow to load if the computer cannot keep up. Try to render the video out to see if it shows up. It’s very similar to how slow Adobe premiere generates call-outs. A fast processor and clean cache drive will help the speed. I put a 500gb SSD in my desktop just to use it as a cache drive for Fusion.

Yes, right-click on the callout text clip. Select open in Fusion page. Double-click on the node group. The text node can be animated there with a write-on animation. If you want something better, find the typewriter text animation video in my channel. You’ll want the older video with more views. The newer video shows some tweaks to the original and where to download the template for the typewriter effect.

It may be that the Fusion text is not rendering fully in the preview window. Let the disk cache build up. Or you can try to export out a sample clip to make sure it’s working. The call out text was released by Blackmagic design so it will be the same as mine.

Any number of call-out text nodes can be added to the tracker you made in the first part of the video. If you do not want more than one leader, then either turn the others off or add text+ nodes instead. Adjust the position as needed in the text+ node or call-out text node settings

I think it is the same, as i noticed this being a common concern. The Callout is expanded throughout the whole timeline. Instead of starting with the clip (for me, i would actually prefer for it to start midway through the clip...), it is there from the start, with the animation happening outside of view. I.e. when the clip starts and end, text is there. Although following the tracker, the line does not anymate the "callout" point
@tomicasino Жыл бұрын
