There is an easier way to do that. First paint your shape, then select all the points. Then publish to tracker (right click or publish menu on the top right, an icon showing an arc and 3 cross)) . A tracker appear on the composition, put it between medianIn and paint node. Run the track ... done ! no need to link each point one by one to the tracker .

Is there anyway you can walk me through the easier method? after painting my shape and selecting all points it doesnt give me the option to publish to tracker... its greyed out.... im missing some steps im sure.

Thank you. That's a great way to outline a property. Now what about text to show the acerage or address. How to incorporate that in the shot as the camera tracks left, right or moves in closer. Thank you again for the tutorial.

Thanks for this, very helpful. Is there a way to overlay boundary lines to a larger video file. So, its a large peice of land, and you fly around the perimeter and want to overlay a border as you fly the perimeter? Hope that makes sense!

Hi, great video but i have a doubt, on min 4:21 you select both the tracker and the MaskPaint and when you try to use the modifier option it´s faded, than when you cut in to the other scene of your video is not so i wanna know what you did so it allows you to use the modifier tool when bot markers are selected

Thanks for the tut. I was able to follow no problem, but at times felt I was blindly following. For example, you mentioned publishing the points. What does that mean, why do I care. It may have just been out of the scope of this video, but I would love context or links to explainer vids for the techniques you mention at times. After publishing the points, you can right click each and Connect to each tracker point, versus using an expression.

Excellent tutorial! I do large parcels of land at times and have not been able to maintain the tracking of lines as they leave the screen during the fly over. Could you please do a tutorial on that situation? I can provide footage if you need

That’s a great idea! I have had it once where I needed to track the lot map that was off screen then on screen when I flew over the section of land

I've done it a couple of times, but the method I use is NOT easy. It is very time consuming. It involves using a planar tracker. Depending on how far off the screen the corners are will determine how complicated it is. Right now, I have 3 videos out there and I'm working on another. Feel free to check them out to see what I've done for lot lines.

After I link the paint strokes to the tracking points it basically will not play the video and it's like a freeze frame. I have no idea what I am doing wrong I have followed every single step in the video...any help??

Thank you :) that was great. I'm wondering: if you have your shape, I think the average of the tracker can do the trick of "position+rotation+.." without publishing. I hope you understand me. This way it could be a really complexe shape (wich you don't need obviously but another way to do the say with multiply tracking point and average). When the video started I thought you would do like this but your approach was obviously smarter for the type of work. I will try to find footages to see if I'm right or wrong. I just played last night with trackers and I think I understood a lot. When matching moves, if we need rotation, we need at least 2 points(obvious). Sorry for long message :) good job

Good afternoon. Lately I've been following your tutorials on Davinci, I do it at an amateur level and not as a professional. In addition to cameras, I have a drone, and I have become increasingly interested in retouching photographs and videos. As I am a beginner in this program and I am in the learning stage, I have not yet started using it, for now I am collecting information on how things are done. Regarding the method you use to mark the limits of this property in the tutorial, I would like to know what you think of the following method carried out in Fusion: *Make a Planartracker to the surface. *Generate a Planartransform. *Create a white Background, for example, on this previous one. *Now on the Background a Bspline is created to create an area, and in its menu the "Solid" option is deactivated, leaving only the edges of the area. In this menu, the movement or shape of the edge is also corrected in the "Position" and "Length" options. And then a couple more corrections can be made. What do you think about this ?
