Thanks so much for this! I was trying to track a small object and the planar tracker would just refuse to work after around 5 frames. This method worked like a charm!

That's super man. Thank you for the fluid explanation. I am definitely storing this one for future use. I think I will use it on some drone footage that is a bit jagged when changing flight direction. This could change everything! In the camera dept. I have Fujifilm XT4 and a stabilized lens - up to 5 or 6 stops of stabilization. I'll do some experiments combining the camera stabilization and Resolve - could be very interesting. I am constantly amazed at the sophistication and constant refinements of this program. It's unbelievable. Lucky for us.

Wow, I had no idea there was a manual way to do it. Nice.

Excellent! Been looking for this. Trying to find a way to lock the camera direction with 360 footage on my motorbike. This should do the trick.
@DigitalVectorStudios4 жыл бұрын
Yes it will. Lock on to something in your scene for the full clip length. If you have a longer clip length and there is no object to lock onto, split the clip into smaller lengths.

If the camera is locked and the background isn't changing, is there any way to fill the black portions with the previous frames content so it doesn't have to be cropped so much?

wow great vid. Do you think that it is possible to do that but with subtitles? basically i want that the subtitles follow a person in the footage, above their head for every person. it's really alot of work to do that frame by frame with keyframes. help would be really appreciated :)

Yes, but it will be much easier to use a tracker. In my opinion the planar tracker will work best for what you want to do, once you get your track, just attach the text to it.

Thanks for this nice tutorial. Just one thing that hits my nerd heart. RAM has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with tracking performance. This is a purely CPU bound operation.
@DigitalVectorStudios2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I understand you’re point. about the RAM. Blackmagic recommends 32GB RAM when working in the Fusion Page, 16GB for the Edit Page. I have a laptop with 16GG of RAM tracking does work. I have a desktop with 64GB of RAM with pretty much the same GPU and CPU. It definitely tracks faster. I’m not sure why either, just my experience, maybe others are different.
