Thank you for explaining the effect of each concept and button so clearly and concisely!! Many other tutorials show you what they would do in one specific scenario, but don't explain what the terms actually mean. It really helps when you name the difference in what we are hearing, because my ear is not trained to figure out what each control actually does. I just launched my own channel, and am learning audio mixing by necessity--didn't put the mic close enough to my husband when we were shooting together. So I'm too loud and he is too quiet, and playing around with the settings you've explained is keeping the dialogue in range and not hitting the red! I've spent hours totally confused until I found your channel, so thank you!!!

What does the "mix" dial do next to "knee"?

Why doesn't the waveform change when effects are applied to it? I find this really daunting because it makes you feel like no changes were made.

The waveform changes when you move the clip volume up and down but it doesn't show other changes like EQ/compressions etc. To show these kinds of changes Resolve would have to process the entire audio and then update the clips waveform which would probably slow things down.

@@JasonRobertsVideo Agreed, but i think they should add the option, i cant work with fairlight because of this. Its like color grading and your parade not changing value. I look at the waveform for indication of what's going on in the audio at a glance. I really wish they would change this. I don't even see it as a feature but as a basic design flaw.
