Alli, enjoyed listening to your voice and watching your audio tutorial for beginners. Really appreciate you speaking slowly and clearly, and the way you smoothly moved the cursor throughout the scene, which makes it easier to follow. . . Yes, if you can do another tutorial: (1) how to clean up the background noise, (2) using the EQ and (3) noise reduction, that would be awesome.

At 6:25 you say that when the meter goes to red, the audio is clipping. That is actually not true. When the red meter beggins you still have 10 db of audio volume to use. It is recommended to keep your audio levels below red so the sum of all audio clips won’t clip at the end. If you are only using a mastered song for the video, level will be touching the top in red, but that is ok.
@AlliandWill

@@christianortega5932 I'm sorry Christian, you are absolutely correct, and I apologize. I just reviewed the video again (Didn't look the first time I replied to you.) and in this video I mention -10db as peaking, and I misspoke. I guess when I was making this tutorial I incorrectly viewed the 2 red squares and quickly assumed it was at the 0db area, which it was not. Ultimately, my original response aligns up with what you have been saying in both your replies, so we are saying the same thing in terms of when audio peaks (at 0db) and again, I apologize. You are correct, that is a mistake. Ithink KZbin allows subtle editing, so I will try to remove that part. Thank you again for correcting me, and sorry for not checking the video the first time I replied to you, as I would have then realized my mistake.

Such great information in your videos. I have to say that being fairly new to Davinci I would have to watch 2-3 times cause so much is covered. You go from one thing to the next so quickly.

It’s all good, thanks for the kind words. We just get comments on both sides. People say it’s too beginner for them, or too slow, others say it’s too advanced, or too fast. It’s hard to get people to understand this content was made to help people and it’s impossible to make it perfect for every person who watches.

Excellent tutorial, you're a great teacher! Have been using NLEs and DAWs since the 90s and have found myself now using FCPX which is imo perfect for video editing but struggled to find a decent DAW. Having watched your tutorial it looks like Davinci is the way forward!! :-)

Thank you this was helpful! What’s your suggestions on how to approach editing dialogue with a scene? For instance, 2 people sit down at a table You establish a wide shot (that’s audio exist from the boom mic) then each over the shoulder shot from both actors those individual audio tracks will exist Just having some trouble not syncing the audio , but syncing it between cuts Hope this was concise thank you
@AlliandWill
@AlliandWill 3 жыл бұрын
Typically, it’s best to use the close up mics as much as you can as it will be the cleanest for the scene. Hopefully the wide shot is wide enough that you can sync up the close up mics from the close up takes with the wide shots.

Would you say Davinci resolve is a better program than Pro Tools?
@AlliandWill
@AlliandWill 3 жыл бұрын
DaVinci resolve is meant for video editing, but has a tab in it called Fairlight dedicated for audio. I’d say Pro Tools is more advanced for audio recording/ mixing / mastering, but Fairlight has better workflows for working with audio that comes with video.

Lol at the shirt. Nice options on Fairlight but not gonna lie, it looks like a bit overwhelming when you're used to using the basic options in iMovie. I guess it's one of those things where it gets easier the more you use it.

Nobody goes basic *basic*. All I wanted to know, which literally nobody addresses, is wtf the icon to the right of the loop icon is. My dynamic effects don't appear in my Effects library. The compressor and limiter etc show up as items once I click that damn mysterious icon. Then when I do select, say, limiter, there's no option to change settings. There...how you like this situation? Google does not address it. Nobody has. I'm legit about to say screw it and learn a new DAW. Fml
