This method is not working, I used to color grade like that , but now any changes in the color page applied to a multicam clip has no effect at all, what is happening? If I color grade using a adjustment clip it does seem to work but it just makes it way more difficult, specially because I have ours and ours of footage that need color tweaking in each individual cut. Could it be a bug with the last update? help please! thank you.

Hi I'm not sure what is happening there I'm afraid, maybe try a new test project and see if it works then you'll know if it is a project problem or a version problem.

Hi. With Method 2, is there a way to apply the colour grade to one angle and it automatically applies it to all the clips from that same angle? Otherwise it seems you would have to tediously select all those clips from the same angle and then press middle mouse. I'm working in a project with about 100 cuts and 7 angles, so this would be a pain. Cheers :))))

Is there any way to get inside a multicam clip that has been imported as XML timeline?
@JasonRobertsVideo3 ай бұрын
No idea sorry...

@@JasonRobertsVideo answering to my self: I noticed that although I can't go inside the XML multicam edit. I can go inside the multicam file that was imported along into the media pool. Color corrections in that file seem to effect on the impoted multicam edit too.

An issue I am having is that my preview screen is much more high saturation than the rendered video. So I can’t assess saturation accurately in the edit window.

I'm finding that grading the whole clip as per Method 1 doesn't always yield perfect results so I would like to use Method 2 to tweak specific parts of the clip once I've cut to it in the timeline. But Method 2 does absolutely nothing. It adds the little bars to the node as if I've made changes but literally nothing happens to that part of the clip. I can work around it by flattening that part of the clip but I would prefer to leave it as multicam should I decide to change angles again. I am 1000% certain it used to work but do you have any thoughts why it doesn't work for me now?

Hi Jason, thanks for the great tutorial, when trying to match colors in my videos, is it possible to get a comparison view to have a reference. If I do the colorimetry on one clip without seeing the others the result is poor.
@JasonRobertsVideo11 ай бұрын
Hi thanks! Yes you can split/wipe against a reference which will also split the scopes (e.g. waveform) - it's a bit hard to explain in writing so I think I need to make a video on it :) :)

02:29 Hi, with this methods, grading are not linked. Better used Groups, so that adjustements of one clip is propagated to the other of same groups.

Hi - yeah groups can be useful - I cover them in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hILTm4imo6uXiJo

Hi again Jason. One thing I cant understand is why do we have to turn off all other videos (angles) when we colour grade one. Why isn't it the same when grading like in a normal timeline, just selecting the video we want to colour grade. Its a bit confusing when I have to copy my colour grade to another angle. Thanks again

I just do that to keep things obvious what happening :) :)

When you say, "open up the main sequence once again," I'm not sure what you did to get back to the single multi-cam timeline. Help?
@JasonRobertsVideo9 ай бұрын
Hi Richard, you can either open the timeline from the media pool or at the top there is a dropdown list of timelines you can switch to :) :)

@@JasonRobertsVideo Hi Jason, I have a multicam clip in the timeline, but when I open the muticamera clip in the timeline as you describe, the existing multcam clip is replaced by the separate tracks. There is no other timeline to go back to. Am I missing something?

The main issue with Color Grading Multicam in Resolve is that you can't color grade the source clip of a multicam clip from the timeline where you put the edited clip. I would say this definitely deserve a feature request to Resolve. Another solution would be to flatten the timeline and use Remote Grade (it is not mentionned here, because I guess tha tloosing multicam clips editing possibilities cannot really be considered as Mutlicam Color Gradingà. So if you want to keep multicam editing possibilities, we can say there is a 4th method, which allow to still keep MultiCam Possibilities, while color grading with the end editing, 1. I do the multicam clip edit on a timeline 2. I duplicate the timeline 3. I flatten the multicam edit in this timeline and do Color Grading on Remote (shared) Grades 4. In the Multicam Clip, set clips to Remote Grades Result: the clip in the original multicam edit timeline will have the color grades applied. Better than the Groups method I mentioned below, because Groups are applied at multicam clip level, so if you change the source cam, it will still have the same color grade.
