Train WITH me on my app doing my actual weekly program📲 www.myliftfitness.com/training-app Traditionally, a Push-Pull-Legs (PPL) split is a 6-day a week training program layout. It's widely regarded as an effective means of scheduling. It is, and I love it. Normally, an individual would train 3 days in a row, take a rest day, then repeat - As follows: Day 1: Push Day Day 2: Pull Day Day 3: Leg Day Day 4: Rest Day Day 5: Push Day Day 6: Pull Day Day 7: Leg Day The only thing I do differently is this... Instead of staying completely out of the gym on day #4, I treat it like an active recovery day (It's a totally optional session for me. I'll skip it if I want a day totally off). But when I do choose to do it, I go in for an easy 45 min session. I train small muscle groups that may not have gotten enough attention throughout the week. Small stuff like forearms, side deltoids, abs etc. Overall, the session doesn't require much energy. It's actually rejuvenating. Just understand this one concept - RECOVERY IS CRUCIAL - REST IS CRUCIAL - BUT... Just because you're in the gym, it does not mean that you are not resting your muscles... You certainly can be. For instance, when I am training my chest and triceps, my legs are not being trained. They are resting from the previous leg session that I did a few days prior. That said - Rest for the mind is crucial as well. We are not robots. When it stops being fun, you should consider backing off. You don't want to run yourself into the ground. Just keep that in mind. Do not let yourself be a slave to the gym. I don't recommend people necessarily do it how I do it. 7 days a week isn't going to yield better results for most (You likely get burned out) But, I've been training for 15 years, I know my body and mind well, this is my job, so I do 7 (when I feel like it) My goal is to just be real with you and show you how it is POSSIBLE to do 7 days if you're hell-bent on doing it. Hope this helps!

Hi Davis just wanted to ask, how much weight do you start off with these exercises?

i think another good routine could be day 1: upper day 2: lower day 3: off Day 4: off Day 5: (optional off) day 6: upper day 7: lower then off again for 2-3 days so by doing 2 days on upper/lower then taking 2-3 days off you can still hit all the muscles 2x a week (4 out of 7 days) and get more rest days if you want.

@@reds1094 I had a stroke reading the comment lol , i gotta say eating healthy is important for gain as a whole. Not PURELY but prioritize it. It determines how you feel before working out session , to how to you feel during the workout, and how much you're gonna get out of your session.

I am 54 years old. Throughout my life I have had a relatively well-trained and defined body as a polyathlete. However, there came a time when I got tired and my muscles started to deteriorate. Many people say I still have a good body, which may be true. But I'm not really satisfied. I've been training at a gym again for three weeks now. Four days a week. Would you say that four days is enough? I keep hearing that you should train every day. Best regards, Wolfgang!

If you are new and need to gain muscle mass, this definitely is not the best way. Chances are, you won’t have the strength or form to get the most out of the exercises and they are not the best way for a beginner to bulk up. Just make sure your diet is on point (maybe extra cals if you are smaller build) and do 3-4 days a week, mainly compound movements, 3-4 exercises per muscle group, 3-4 sets per exercise, weight around 70-75% 1RM. Worry more about keeping good form and really focus on building that mind muscle connection. Remember, it does say in the title, it’s his chest workout day…..

@narcosys6934 Жыл бұрын
Question. Why do you group the muscles in your workouts that are already inducing secondary engagement? For instance. When you work chest, you are engaging Triceps. When you work back, you engage Biceps more. Would it not be more effective to switch that up and do Chest and Biceps, and then Back and Triceps? Thus ensuring the arm muscle groupss are at their peak vs partially fatigued.
