Not sure. PBS suffered federal funding loss right after the current administration began and with the corona shut down, the project is completed but currently in limbo for now.

We affectionately call her Princess P, somehow a snake managed to become quite the diva around here😜🐍❤. I love newts! I used to have dwarf firebellies and red spotted (eastern newt) that looks very much like that central as an adult. The eft stage is much different though. Thanks for this, Dave!!! Keep em coming!

That must have been a beautiful amusement park. Nice to see the are as a haven for snakes and other reptiles. The little brown snakes, Garter snakes, Blue Spotted Salamander, a native Newt with 3 stages of life. I would love to visit Minnesota when travel is safe. I live in Connecticut. The retiles I used to find in the 1950's and 1960s have faded into memory. Very sad. Nice video.

It always amazes me that people used to just sink boats, barges and train cars intentionally in our lakes and oceans. Looking forward to your documentary about the bottom of the lake! There are stretches of wreaked ships in Mexico along the coast. At low tide you half expect ghosts to appear on some of the exposed decks- your footage reminded of those eerie dead ships.

Hey Dav , That is a neat little newt . I fell in love with the Dekay's snakes here in the Catskills , NY , since I was about 12 . Also Ringnecks . I always found both in close proximity to each other for some reason . I also found both to be extremely non aggressive and gentle . Dekay's are really incredible and fascinating to look at and handle . I really wish it was possible to keep them as pets . Peace

I went after what I thought was a pair of big toads in the tall grass. It turned out they were her chicks! 😂

loved it ! great video as always - i now i want to go there, but i couldn't see 2 small dots on the garter snakes head, i thought that was a sign of an eastern garter snake, or is it for plains garter? i find them all so hard to distiguish.. well not the red sided or ribins but plains eastern butlers ect.

Some have those dots, some don't. It's what scale rows the lateral line is on that distinguishes them the best.

We used to catch little brown snakes. I have never seen the small ones bite,but I did see a friend get bit by a larger sub species.

First i always love your content. And if you take the time to read this. I would love to see someone out there do a vid about the aquatic rainbow snakes here in Maryland. They are found mostly in the water and around the Chesapeake bay area. That's all i really know about them. I have found a few pictures of them in different parts of the country. But the ones i have found pictured here in Maryland are amazing looking.. Just wanted to know what you may know about them.

I remember. We tried to find vipers but only found a slowworm. Still cool to find it though!

@@davkaufmansreptileadventures Yeah, sloworms i find every day and sometimes i see a dead grass snake at a road but to see live snakes here is difficult. You don't even find much in case of amphibians, a newt here and there or a small froggie ... we just dont have the variety you got over there.

I live near the lake & grew up on the lake! I never new these boats sunk to the bottom! Do you know how or why they sank?

They were intentionally scuttled and some were even burned when they outlived their usefulness. There's actually 90 known man made vehicles/objects on the bottom of the lake.
