I had the honor of Dawayne playing on a demo I recorded in LA in 1999. I was blessed to have Dawayne, along with John Pattituci on the bass and Greg Bissonette on drums, Steve Reid from the Rippingtons on percussion. It was epic!! Joseph Williams from Toto sang on the same demo. Dawayne was amazing.

Awesome interview, and so very rare. Thanks for sharing this gem. I've been a huge Dawayne Bailey fan since the first I ever heard of him. Also, I love the Chicago SOS album, where Dawayne especially shines.

I remember seeing Dwayne in three Chicago concerts, the audience loved him, he was so great. Wished they'd play some stone of Sisyphus songs in some of their concerts.

Saw Chicago at York Fair grounds in 1987 from the 3rd row. Dawayne Bailey was really awesome. I've seen Hendrix, Cream, Jeff Beck Group, BB King and a lot of other great guitarists. Dawayne Bailey measured up to all of them. Wonderful show punctuated by Dawaynes great guitar work particularly on I'm a Man and 25 or 6 to 4

I was first aware of Dawayne at a Manhattan, Kansas Junior High Talent Show when him and his brother ripped into Hendrix's Fire seemingly playing it note for note. Our jaws dropped to the floor. I'm sure Dawayne will tell me again who the bass player was.

Dawayne, when did you play the entire Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon? Thought the band cut it to just MMS and CMW from 84-95 and started playing the whole thing again in 96? Maybe you’re thinking of To Be Free/now more than ever on 86-87 tour? I think they added that for that year.

What drugs do you need to do to sound like Kenny/a biker?

DB used to be very open and conversational but seems to have disappeared the last few years.

Uh, Dwayne, we know the reason why you were let go, and it wasn't your guitar playing or how you dressed. You were boinking Walt's daughter.

Lol. He's a great guitarists but so true. I read a story from Walt's daughter talking about 'abuse' but never named Bailey. Bailey looked like Axyl Rose in this pic.
@frank82358 ай бұрын
Walt's daughter was underage when they first got together and he was abusive during the 5 years they were together.

@@frank8235 There was a lot of that going on in the rock world back then, even though it was wrong. But no way would he get away with that now.
