I also got started out playing your sheet music, I still have most of them. if you have an active website or email address these days i'd love some mp3s as study aids I can't seem to find them anymore

Thank you! I spent a fair amount of time practicing the bellows movement for this tune to achieve that feel. :)

Great music. I’m thinking of learning accordion again. I used to play for 2 years when I was a kid… What is the brand name of accordion you have? Would you advise buying new or vintage one first?

Thank you! My accordion brand is DiBellis, which is one of many dozens of US accordion makers that popped up in the 50s and 60s and disappeared just as quickly, so these are hard to come by (I've never heard of any other player with this brand, now that I think of it). Personally, for beginners I recommend getting a used/vintage accordion from a reputable seller over something brand new - you'll get more bang for your buck that way, assuming the instrument is in good condition. Ideally you should try before you buy, but if that's not possible, be very careful and diligent when buying any accordion (new or used) online, as many things can go wrong in the process. The /r/Accordion/ subreddit is a great place to ask for more details about the accordion buying process if you have more questions. Cheers!

Also, would you recommend one on one lessons or web based sources . Anyone in particular if you know of any good ones ?
@BrendanVavra Жыл бұрын
@@azesm Unfortunately, I don't know anyone in particular who does lessons that I can recommend, though I do strongly suggest at least a couple personal 1-on-1 lessons to get you started in the right direction in terms of posture, technique, and practice regimen. I started out self-taught and didn't take my first lesson until I've been playing for about 3 years, and my teacher showed me a lot of things I was doing wrong the whole time, so I had to basically relearn everything I've done up to that point. So my advice is to avoid that scenario if at all possible. XD
