The Baekeland story is an epic tale of a gilded life and its descent into madness. It's an epic downfall but , if there is a happy ending, it's that both Tony and Barbara are consigned to the peaceful garden 🎪

A gilded beginning in the Upper Eastside, New York, later on to murder in 81 Cadogan Square, London, from thence to six months in Brixton prison , years in Broadmoor hospital, and then a sordid end in Rikers Island...a long way from sunny 🌞 days in Spain 🇪🇸 and Paris and Morocco 🇲🇦. His downfall was epic. But now consigned to ashes, Tony and Barbara, and even Brooks have found peace. Money helps but does not thwart cruel fate....but peace comes eventually 🏛🎪🌻

this was a great movie with great actors, but boy that family was screwed up. The dad was useless and the mother was a dreadful woman. Whilst I have no sympathy for her, she should not have died that way, because while Tony may been childish and loving, he was capable of evil and henious acts and very nearly killed his grandmother after killing his mother. Tony was capable of being a nasty piece of work. A very nasty piece of work and you could argue he was even worse than his mother, as deplorable as she was, tony was dangerous
