Well… it seems I’m just a wee bit late to posting Spooky Season videos 😅 Currently my plan is to get 1 more done this month, get going on Christmas movies, then finish up the Spooky ones in January. Just a little out of order, but better late than never. Sorry for the weird timelines! I’m trying to get on a better schedule 🤍 I hope you enjoy!

Rule of thumb for any zombie media. Just assume the characters & universe the stroy takes place in have no previous knowledge of zombies unless the story states otherwise. It's kind of an important trope within this sub genre. The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead & all the OG Romero zombie movies, and just in general. Like it's easier to count the zombie media where zombies are well known. Also Andy only said that to lighten the mood. He didn't want to write a depressing ass note to bring down Kenneth's vibe. There's a cool Andy's Video Tapes short that comes along with the movies to get Andy's perspective. He's a good person who was trying to remain tough in the face of the end times. Luis died from getting bit in the jugular & bleeding out. The virus itself takes a while to kill you. But once you're dead you come back quickly. Very good reaction Steph

When Andy said “what’s the bad news” is because he already knew that location had fallen. It wasn’t because he didn’t care if they got saved. I don’t get why everyone is so obsessed with Chips safety when he was never in harm. He was literally the safest of all of them.

Great to see you back excellent reaction! Don't be afraid of screaming during the scary movies that's what makes it fun! In this universe it seems as if they didn't know what zombies were or how they came about. That would explain why they were trying to save people that are obviously not going to make it. One of the things that kind of links to Shaun of the Dead is how the zombies are fast which was obviously not in Shaun. Which was a major criticism between this film and the Romero zombie-verse. Also at least in the KZbin edit it looks like you might have missed the scenes during the credits which kind of shows what happens to them after they leave the dock.

Shaun of the Dead isn't a spoof of this movie, it's a spoof of zombie movies in general. You should have watched the credits to find out what happens with the ones who made it to the boat. Some zombie tales take place in worlds where the concept of zombies doesn't yet exist. This is one. I can think of a better place than costco, but I'm not sharing it on the internet. Just in case.

Anna’s husband died and turned almost instantly because his neck wound was fatal (jugular vein was severed so he bled out). If he had just one bite in a non vital area he would have lasted as long as Nicole’s dad. Also its usually a trope in Zombie movies and games that the characters don’t know what a zombie is in their world. Lol

To eventually sacrificing himself to ensure the groups’ survival and escape to the island. CJ is the equivalent to Daryl Dixon from Walking Dead (starting off an asshole then turning into a selfless hero).

Luis got bit in the jugular so he turned instantly. The others got bit on hands, arms and legs. It depends on where you get bit as to how long it takes. Either way once you get bit you're dead, it just takes time for you to change into a mindless chomping machine. Dude with the pregnant wife went crazy that's why he was avoiding the others and lashed out at them.

I like to go into these movies as being their own separate universe with their own set of "rules" in which they go by. For this movie, this universe, they don't know about zombies or "the infected". The idea of the dead coming back to life from getting bit by one of these creatures hasn't been explored at all. There are movies that do talk about zombies, know the implications of what a zombie is but not every movie/universe will have knowledge going in, which is why it took them so long to figure out what was going on in this movie lol.

I saw it with friends in the cinema in 2004. We were very skeptical, but Zack Snyder really did a good job. Even the small trivialities like the music in the mall. "Don't worry, be happy"😂 is really very sarcastic. Musical references then really to the 1978 "Dawn of the Dead" by George A. Romero, All in fine nuances. Very nicely done. All in all, a really successful remake.

@@cinemawithsteph Romero's original trilogy, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead are absolute classics and they created the whole genre. Watching the original on your own does it a great disservice. I suggest you do that on a reaction, because the majority of your followers would agree with me with this one. Trust me. The remake is a modern update, but you should see the original, as part of a trilogy. After the OG trilogy, I suggest watching Romero's Land of the Dead. Everything else after that, Diary of... and Survival of..., are lesser works.
