I've seen this and want to try the power wash effect. Thanks for sharing this. Your waves turned out awesome. I just wanted to add that if you run your finger or stick under the resin to catch the drips every so often when your finished you won't get the big drips and won't need a dremel. I really like the epoxy store resin until I asked them if this resin had uv protection and was disappointed they said no. But I thought I'd share that there other resin does have added uv ad they will add it to your purchase for an extra cost. Uv protection is s very important especially with white waves and wanting all your hard work to last as long as it can without yellowing.
@MoonkusserArt Жыл бұрын
Hi Julie. Powerwash technique is a fun one! 😁 Sometimes I will come back to scrape the drips from edge, other times I do not because there is always the risk of dust or hair contaminating the top layer of resin and that means dremeling off the drips later. As far as UV resistant resins from The Epoxy Resin Store, here is a link to all their resins that are UV Protected - www.theepoxyresinstore.com/collections/uv-protected-epoxy-resin?aff=16 Maybe for your next purchase from them you might want to look at one of those. It can only help!

I really love all your prep work and how you show, thanks. As far as your dremmel, ingenious!! But…you can take your dremmel apart and blow it out, it happened to me, took some screws out and blew it out and good as new! I really love the depth this has with your different methods. My favorite is where you have a white wave, and it has a thick edge to it, I can’t seem to get that at all, maybe mine isn’t thick enough? When I put a line on mine, right away it spreads , that makes me think it’s not set long enough. I just love your videos and your work, thank you for them.

Thank you for sharing your amazing work. Regarding your clear coat, do you let it settle/thicken before adding the waves? If so how long do you wait before doing the waves? Thanks
@MoonkusserArt Жыл бұрын
The resin used is a very thick resin and does not offer a long work time. For me, thicker resins give the best results with wave lacing and there is no need to wait. Thanks for watching 😊

Oh, I love this. We don’t have Dawn products but if water works or works differently. I could try it. I have found that brand of spray paints. I wish I had gotten some of the Artie Sue gold paste. I only found her when she was closing. I have some beautiful ocean colours from there for resin. Thank you. ❤️
@MoonkusserArt3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Karen. 😁 I have watched videos of water droplets giving very similar effects so I didn't hesitate to add a bit more spray paint on top of the water. I would recommend using a mist bottle adjusted to spray medium sized droplets and see how that works.

Not all Dr.ph Martin's watercolor inks are made from pigments. Their "Radiant" watercolors are dye-based and would fade over time.

Fantastic love all your videos you are a great teacher not my first time saying so! I started doing tumblers recently myself and using the power wash method I also make beach scenes not on canvas but on wood trays but this is great because on the tumblers I use the powerwash over a beach scene with white spray paint over the blue to water to create the lacing for waves just use a lot of powerwash because the more spray of powerwash the more of your underneath is shown so If you want only a little effect the more powerwash is required then spray paint white and wash away and only a little white is on your picture if that makes sense but yeah going to try this on my resin trays instead of using the white resin for lacing I wonder how that will work? Hmmm🧐 I will have to see! I am going to be doing a beach scene on the floor of my outdoor bathroom and have been contemplating how to go about this but yeah may be doing that there too! Soooo many possibilities thanks Janet you are great!😍

Can I use white alcohol ink to Mix with the resin for my waves until I can get whatever you are recommending?
@MoonkusserArt2 жыл бұрын
Alcohol inks will not work the same. Paste pigment is highly pigmented which allows it to create a sinking action that alcohol ink cannot.
