I used to love Lobstah. I am not sure I could eat it now. Not sure what happened but I know our tastes change. I haven't been on a whale watch tour but I surprised my mom with a nature cruise in Bar Harbor one year. We loved it! Saw seals mostly but I didnt care what we saw as long as we enjoyed it!

When you visit Alaska, the whale watching in Juneau and Icy Strait Point in June was spectacular! You’ll be so happy.

Yes! In Icy Straight Point I had the privilege of seeing Humpback Whales come together to "bubble net feed". A life time experience I will never forget. I recognized it when it was happening because I had seen it on National Geographic. It was so amazing!!! You can Google it and see videos online.

My daughter and I saw a large number of humpback whales with their calves on our August Alaska trip a few years ago. We even went snorkeling while there. Alaska is a must do cruise. We want to go back.

One of the best places to see the humpbacks! But anyone interested needs to do their research and know what the whale's migratory patterns are. The summer months are a good time to see them in Alaska. Other times of year, not so much.

MCSegalls is very good BUT for the Lobster experience you should of stopped at Reds Eats. They have one of the best Lobster Rolls. Being a Mainer i agree with the gentleman that said you should have take a fork and dipped your lobster in the butter. It is a sweet tasting food. You can also get a Lobster Roll with a little Mayo and Celery.

Before I visited Bar Harbor, Maine I researched what I was interested in. Acadia National Park was my main reason for going but I also wanted to enjoy the area as much as possible. Eating lobster at a "lobster pound" was what was recommended over and over. So that's what I did, more than once. LOL I live on the Gulf of Mexico so I have access to fresh seafood. I'd had lobster but wasn't really that impressed. I realized what I had wasn't a fair representation good lobster. So I went to some lobster pounds in Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island and had the best experience eating fresh lobster. MUCH better than what I'd had before. I haven't had lobster since, I know I'll be disappointed. If I go back up to Maine, that's when I'll eat lobster again. And the lobster rolls!!! Yum!!

Had great luck with Bar Harbor whale company out of Bar Harbor ( not too far from where you were). We were there in August. Hopefully next time!

I visited Bar Harbor about 4-5 years ago and had lobster rolls. They were nowhere near as expensive as the one Dawn had! $38.00??? Not even close. I know things have gone up but not that much! 😳

I’ve never had lobster, either, but I’d love to!! Want to see whales? Go to Maui, HI in February!! (I forget how long the “whale season is--google can help with that, lol) We stayed in a condo in Kaanipali (sp?) and could see whales jumping from our balcony (or lanai)….we went on a whale watching tour, and it was fun, but we saw more whales from our balcony!!! Lol So, if y’all ever go to Maui, go during whale season and Dawn will be very excited!!! Obviously, tons of other things to do. Enjoyed this video a lot!!

You should have got a whole lobster or a lobster tail. That way you would have been able to actually taste the lobster without all of that other stuff and the bread that gives you other flavors.

I love lobster, but I think it's really the butter you dip it in that makes it so good. Make sure to try it without the bread, just dipped in good melted butter. Maine is so beautiful, I hope you spent more time there than one day. Love your channel.

Dawn isn't a fan of new food experiences. She's most happy with club sandwiches, quesadillas, house salads and she seems very fond of sweet potatoes. I knew before she tried tried the lobster roll she would be making that face. 🥴 🤦

That was beautiful in Main. Dawn maybe you should have just eaten the lobster without the roll first. Lobster has that sweet taste to it. I love it. Yummy!! I've never eaten it in a roll either, but I have heard of it before. I love the boat ride too. That's my favorite thing to do. I feel for you on the whale watching tour. I’ve been whale watching in Vancouver, BC, Hawaii and just recently in Maine. Only saw one whale and her baby way off in distance in Hawaii and two Minke whales in Maine. And on my Alaska cruise I didn’t see any whales either, although others did. I won’t give up though. I live in perpetual hope that I’ll see one breaching like you see on tv and movies. 😊 I wish the same for you!

If you want to see whales go to Provincetown on Cape Cod. We went and it was fantastic song lots of whales. For taking us along with you I always wanted to go to Maine but never got there yet.

You were in Boothbay Harbor, ME. Boothbay is the town before getting to Boothbay Harbor. We vacation there almost every year. So glad you discovered this amazing little village. The church is the Catholic Church and they ring the bells on the hour. Two great restaurants there are The Tugboat and, a little beyond BBH is Robinson’s Wharf in Southport.

They have whale watching off San Pedro, CA and Dana Point, CA. I went in March just before the pandemic out of San Pedro. It was choppy and windy but we actually did see 3 whales, one with a baby. Wasn't as pricey as yours was but also not as long. I don't like seafood so that would not be my cup of tea for eating. Great video though and look forward to your visit to MA, a state I'm a lot more familiar with.

PS Dawn Lobster 🦞 is delicious, I don't think that restaurant did it justice though...looked a bit skimpy exactly for $36, it should have been packed with large chunks of lobster meat and served with lemon wedges along with the butter. Salt, pepper, butter and lemon! Next time try a 1&1/2lb. Lobster broiled and ask to have the kitchen crack it for you, that you will enjoy...no bread.

I prefer just lobster with lemon. The butter changes flavor and I think they put mayo on lobster roll. Also prefer broiled lobster. So maybe try one more time. Loved Boothbay.

A great location for seeing Wells is if you go to the New England aquarium in Boston, they have a great whale watch. I saw a bunch of whales.

The bread is called a new England hot dog roll. You can only get that roll in certain areas. You didn't have lobster on the cruise? It's nice that gave you a ticket to return. I'm not a fan of lobster, I think it's bland. 28:29

Yea when up that way love to get lobster rolls, the haddock fish and chips looked great, I always have to put a little of malt vinegar on it, always put that on my fish and chips try it next time, sure they have it there 😊, also always like to see the whales in Alaska, you have to research when they migrate in the area you are visiting to get the most out of the tours

I really enjoyed this video. I think the haddock meal looked fabulous, I would snub lobster anytime for that haddock plate! Once my husband and I were on Ocracoke Island in NC at a hotel. There was a bad storm and the lights went out! and the island started flooding! The lady running the hotel told the customers good luck and she went home. I kept having to move my car to higher ground. It all turned out fine ,even a little excitement to our vacation!

Lobster is a step above crab legs and 2 steps above shrimp .. should have just eaten the lobster dipped in butter without the roll. Lobster by itself is sweet.
