Honestly, I never saw any problem with this movie. It was lighter, and not as epic as the other movies, but I thought it was a fun kind of “Adventures of Han and Chewie” story, and I still hope we see more. There’s no Solo 2 coming but they haven’t completely written off the idea of that previously announced Lando movie.

Glad you liked it. I think a lot of people don't like it because it's so different than the others. But that makes perfects sense actually. When we encounter Solo in the bar being asked to Ben and Luke away, he's nothing like those people. Again, as we say here in the Texas; Y'all be safe. In the original script, it's just a bit of impressive-sounding nonsense Han used to impress Luke & Ben (and Ben didn't buy it for a second). Later, after science guys complained, they retconned it to be used as a measure of distance. Now, we get the best of both worlds: it's properly used as distance, and it's Han lying to impress the ignorant.

@@sean---the-other-one Ron Howard directed Solo, so I think he put that in there after the fact. I see it as a nice tip of the hat to a small factoid. Another such bit is when 3P0 tells Luke when they first meet that he's not very good at telling stories,. Then in return of the Jedi tells the entire saga to the Ewoks, and does so movingly as a demonstration of character development. So, probably not what Lucas had in mind, but something that Howard used to explain it.

The original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, were fired from the project, after 6 months of filming. They showed producer Kathleen Kennedy 90 minutes of footage, and after seeing the footage, she told them that their service was no longer required. Ron Howard was brought in to do 3 months of reshoots. The reason why tegy were fired is because that the original cut of the film looked more like a comedy than a serious action adventure movie.

L3 was voiced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who wrote and starred in Fleabag. If you haven't seen it, it's worth a watch. It's 2 seasons of 10 episodes each. Beckett was played by Woody Harrelson. He's been in lots of things, my favorite being the Zombieland movies and the Now You See Me movies lol. This movie wasn't great, but honestly, it didn't have to be. A movie doesn't have to be "great" to still be interesting and informative. We got to see how Han met Chewie and Lando and got the Falcon and did the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. It had enough good points that were pretty good to make it a decent enough movie. I might not go out of my way to watch it again, but if it came on TV and I wasn't watching something else, I'd flip to it.
