The bloopers are one of the greatest parts of a Jackie Chan movie and one of the reasons he's one of my favourite actors. In the final version of his films you see when it all goes to plan, the flawless moves that are almost superhuman, but, he's also not afraid to show when it doesn't go to plan. The amount of broken bones, concussions, accidents he has but still powers through to finish make him one of the true greats.

My favorite story is that during FBI sequence, the American actors that have no background in fighting didn't want to op out for stunt doubles because they wanted to share the screen with Jackie Chan. Because of this Jackie spent time with all the actors to make sure they did everything safely he may hurt himself, but he trys to protect every other person on set.

My Korean friends introduced me to his Chinese movies. Even without understanding a word of the dialogue, just watching him was enough entertainment to keep me rivetted.

That's Jackie Chans usual film credits thing... outtakes. His earlier martial arts films show him also getting injured. Jackie Chan is also blacklisted by insurance companys because of him doing his own stunts. And because he does his own stunts, he's broken almost every bone in his body. And... he took inspiration for his comedy from Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Gene Kelly, and Harold Lloyd.

About the same time, he was also in a movie called _Shanghai Noon,_ in which he costarred with an actor named Owen Wilson. Now I once owned that movie on DVD, and I once watched it with the commentary track on, and that track didn't just have the director (Tom Dey), but also Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson, and Wilson shared with us this aspiration he had to be known as the actor who does _none_ of his own stunts.

Yes the actor with the bomb was in Pale Rider. His name is Chris Penn (Sean Penn‘s brother). He died in Jan 2006 of heart disease. He was only 40 years old. He also played the sheriff in the movie ‚To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar“. Cheers

Jackie Chan's first US roles were in Burt Reynolds' Cannonball Run 1 & 2. He enjoyed the bloopers at the end so much he decided to include them in his own movies. The snake, the mantis, tiger are all forms of kung-fu. Chan also teamed up for two movies with Owen Wilson, set in the 1870s US west. Shanghai Nights & Shanghai Noon.

I love that you are reviewing this film. Jackie Chan movies are practically their own genre. One of my favourite scenes is the girl singing Mariah Carey in the car, while the bodyguards just have to put up with it. (Also watching the film was the first time I ever heard that song.) BTW, yes, that is Chris Penn, who was in Reservoir Dogs and Pale Rider. And the snitch guy at the Chinese theatre I'm pretty sure played Saul on Deadwood.

JC's parents basically gave him to a Peking opera school when he was a minor and he studied martial arts, acrobatics, acting, etc everyday, day in and out for years and eventually worked his way into kung fu films in the 70's. It took several trys for the USA to 'discover' him, but when they did...the rest is history; It's a fascinating story.

He’s been in comedy since childhood. (1962) He became more comedic in the 80’s with movies like city hunter, meals on wheels, lucky stars, operation condo, project A . So on if you want to watch the classic Chan era watch all those movies. He was/is a stuntman and stunt director and appeared in Bruce Lee movies. He famously has hooked up with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao, and the three of them later became known as the Three Brothers or Three Dragons. He has also done serious roles like police story. He got world wide recognition in the cannonball movies and tried and failed to break the US market with The Big Brawl but in he finally broke the US in the 90’s with Rumble in the Bronx. It was 98 Rush hour that shot him on his way towards his Hollywood star and he’s been helping out a Kung fu panda ever since. That’s the briefest run down I can give you of somebody I own every movie, tv series and cartoons of . I even have his PlayStation game. After this I seriously recommend you watch the karate kid remake. It shows a more serious side to Jackie. Hope that helps

Jackie, who's name is actually Chan Kong San, which means "born in Hong Kong Chan", started training when he was 7. He was enrolled in the Peking Opera School for 10 years. He learned kung fu, several styles, singing, dancing, acting, acrobatics and stage directions. He couldn't read or write until his late teens. He's been acting for over 50 years. He has always done his own stunts, and has been injured several times and almost died doing a stunt for a movie called Armour of God. There are a couple more Rush Hour movies. All fun. If you can find them, Jackie's older movies are amazing. On to the next one!!

This is one of those movies that you can watch any time no matter how many times you've already seen it. It's one of the best action comedies...ever. This is one of those movies I put right up with 'The Mummy' because it's so much fun. Well, actually I think I'll change that. I'll put this up there with 'The Mummy' and 'The Mummy Returns' as well as adding...'Rush Hour 2'. That movie is actually better than the first in my opinion. The chemistry is better, the humor is funnier, and there's more action/stunts. I cannot wait for you to watch that because I know we will all hear "Best movie ever".

5:17 Fun Fact: C-4 cannot be detonated by a gunshot or by dropping it onto a hard surface. It does not explode when set on fire or exposed to microwaves. Detonation can ONLY be initiated only by a shockwave...such as when a detonator inserted into it is fired.

You're forgetting one thing, C-4 can also be generated by expected gross sales. There's a direct link between big explosions & sales. With large expected gross sales over-riding the need for detonators & the laws of physics.

Jackie Chan was adopted into a Peking Opera school (Chinese performance arts) when he was 5. There he learned gymnastics, martial arts, singing, etc until he was 18. His best movie is Drunken Master 2. Most of his best movies are Chinese, (relatively) low budget, and mostly focus on martial arts. Rush Hour 2 is a good follow up to this movie, but the third is pretty bad. I've seen most of his movies, and I think his best are: Drunken Master II (1994), Police Story III: Supercop (1992), Armour of God 2: Operation Condor (1991), Police Story (1985), Wheels on Meals (1984), Project A (1983), & Drunken Master (1978). Be aware that his Chinese movies were not shot with sound, and so the original soundtracks are technically Mandarin or Cantonese dubs. Many of these movies were re-released in America with English dubs, but they were also edited and replaced the music with new scores and sound effects. Generally the original soundtrack is preferred.

Jackie Chan is the king of action comedy. He did some great dramatic movies later in his career, but his early work is some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen. I recommend Drunken Master, Mr. Nice Guy, Wheels on Meals, Legend of Drunken Master, and Rumble In The Bronx. Also, there is a cartoon from the 90s called Jackie Chan Adventures that still holds up really well.

I've always been impartial to "Ginormous" as a reference to Big. A combo of Gigantic and Enormous. Jackie Chan is really fun. He has a lot of B Films be he is in some Epics, too. Cheers.

I grew up with these type of movies like the Bad Boys movies and Hush Hour movies and I was having a bad day today but thanks to Dawn and reaction to this movie my day is good now and I love your laugh Dawn is always good to see you laughing during movies.

Jackie trained since he was like 6 years old I think. He grew up in a place that would probably considered child abuse elsewhere in the world lol, his days were spend AS A CHILD, doing intense training and balancing something on your head, I forget if it was a book or glass of water or something, but you got punished if you dropped it. So basically Jackie grew up being turned into a master martial artist. Also it's funny you say you want to be able to do all that stuff, but some of it you couldn't as women lack upper body strength.

Let’s continue with Rush Hour 2 and 3. I’ve always been a Jackie Chan fan (2nd to Bruce Lee, where Jackie started as a stuntman in Bruce Lee movies), you have so much to see with Armour Of God, First Strike, Project A, Police Story, Rumble In The Bronx, he has over 100 films under his belt. Jackie trained at the Chinese Drama Academy from 7 till 17, from 5am 12 hrs a day, literally torture, i have his autobiography and its so enlightening, well worth a read. He made strong friendships with other students, Samo Hung and Yuen Biao, all starred in Dragons Forever, another amazing movie.

Though Chan started cout w/ Bruce Lee w/ his films, he made his mark in the genre w/ more comedic martial arts films of his own brand. He 1st appeared in American films w/ an all-star cast in the first Cannonball Run (1981) movie (smaller role) (also featuring Burt Reynolds, Dom DeLuise, Roger Moore, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, & Frank Sinatra (among others). Fun movie. Chan started doing end-credit bloopers/outtakes after this movie.
