In the first 20 seconds, my mind was already blown about gouache. I've been struggling with that stuff. xD

Even though this isn't really a tutorial, I feel like I've learned so much in the first minute about gouache than the many-- MANY tutorials I've binge watched these past few weeks. I just finished my first gouache painting a few days ago and it looks like utter trash (was proud of my line work, was also very discouraged to paint again). But I feel like I learned some new things to apply to my next painting and honestly I'm even more motivated to try again. So thank you for that :)

If you used larger brushes with fewer/more confident brush strokes, the result will end up stronger, and not so overworked. You're definitely at the level to start thinking about that stuff and get to the next level, really beautiful painting and strong sense of color! Subbed
@joycelee72777 жыл бұрын
JunoVHS I agree, but maybe she wanted it to look softer and used a smaller brush on purpose
@joycelee72777 жыл бұрын
You can't really tell an artist things like that because there are so many aspects in art, like the brush you use, or the direction of your brush stroke. It's really how the artist wanted to portray the piece and I feel like if their were fewer brush strokes, the feel of the painting would be totally different than what it is now

This is beautiful, I love the colors you choose! 💕 I have a question, when you blend the color (like in the moment you add the reddish shading under the eyes and nose), do you use only water in the brush, or is it paint?

I´m sorry if this comes off rude and I´m not trying to tell you what to draw/paint but I feel like doing a portrait of a bald person would really suit you and maybe it can be an inspirational challenge!

hey! yea, that's great, but have you ever tried figure drawings? with also the entire body, because I've never ever seen a single drawing from you (I follow you since you've started like 3-4 years ago) which included the body and I'm really curious. it would add a lot of characterisation and personality to your works!

Yes, I'm studying that for comic/character drawings. But they are for practice only and I won't be filming those.

do you use watercolor paper for gouache? I'm trying to find out what is the best paper for it and I never get a answer lol I have seen people using it on all kind of paper from black to canvases and even wood ?

Yes and paper for mixed media aswell. Gouache works for me on a lot of different kinds of paper.

What's the difference between gouache and normal watercolor?
@EpicLoutreEver7 жыл бұрын
Watercolor is a very transparent kind of painting. If you put a color on another one, it won't cover it completely. Gouache is more like a paste. It can have several textures. You can add "a lot" of water to have a fluid texture (more like milk) and use it like watercolor for the firsts layers. The more you make layers, the less water you put in the gouache (otherwise, you'll remove the color below). You can change your mind and cover a part with another color and work a lot on it . With watercolor, it's not that easy, because if you put layers of diffrent colors on and on, at the end, it'll be a mess of brownish color. I hope I've answered well ^^
