Absolutely agree! I have so many side quests I've left there for alts, hoping they get an exp buff eventually. I would also personally love maybe some gil at least for doing New Game Plus, as I would love to revisit the story but I'm so poor I would eventually run out of gil teleporting around to do it! XD

@@chaintrust9822 the Board of Directors is a position that sets the company goals, finances, etc. They essentially can hire and fire the CEO, decide the contracts, etc. However, Square Enix has two Board of Directors, the one Yoshi P is on, Square Enix Co. Handles the gaming side, while the more powerful board, Square Enix Holdings Co., which decides things like budgeting, funding, the executive offices, non-gaming business decisions (fun fact: Full Metal Alchemist is owned by Square Enix), Yoshi P is not on that board.

@@shimashima5332 this isn’t wow. WoW traditionally does not require healers to do anything but heal because there are dedicated DPS classes where that is their entire responsibility. In FF, healers have multiple responsibilities, which include dpsing and healing and performing mechanics. In GW2, healing supports often are also in charge of buffing alacrity or quickness sometimes as well as doing mechanics. Not every healer in MMO’s needs to be the whack-a-mole “stare at party list” level of fuckery that is WoW healing.

Im so excited. I loved joining during ShB and EW but man I felt the blandness towards the end. One time my fc was down a person and asked me to join my first savage and i was blown away at the jump. To clear it finally showed me what this game could be. I dont have time to commit to savages so having other kinds of more content that is tougher is great. One day when my schedule gets more stable I look forward to doing the harder stuff.

I hope to see a greater variety of raid-tier gear, maybe 3 options like how hw's i270 gear has Shire and Alexandrian gear, but also Proto Ultima accessories. If they don't modify how skill/spell speed works or otherwise, the more we can fine tune our gear without resorting to weird materia melding, the better.

When I first saw the artwork on that box, I was thinking it looked a lot like the artwork used on the Vampire Hunter D books, then I heard the artists name, and it is the same artist for those books, Yoshitaka Amano. BTW, I only collect the digital editions not the physical, but the map is nice.

It's impossible to know if they'll get it right but they're clearly aware of the feedback and trying to move in a direction that addresses that feedback without leaving the players who are already happy behind. It's a tall order, for sure, but just knowing they're moving in the right direction is already very comforting!

Having a weapon that has effects onn it like "Enhanced Iaijutsu" or any type of bonuses, something like that I feel would add a level of verticality to the gear system. Edit: Level 100 should be the hard cap, and add some sort of merit system like in FFXI.

Ideal way to roll in XI as bat was BST/NIN so you could dual wield axes and go to town, and if you rocked a Francesca (rare ax), you could solo quite a lot with that set up. So I’m hoping that with BST they introduce 1h axes to the game and that it shares NIN/VIP gear. Just my wild speculation in the role, and I have to say that I’m more excited for BST than VIP or PIC lol. I loved my bat in XI, and I’m excited to see what they do with it in this game.

The achievement team/person had 10 years of feedback too, yet they doubled the requirements of (at the time) the 2nd rarest achievement in the game that less than 100 people worldwide had. Basically what I'm saying is they have no idea what they're doing and they don't actually pay attention to much feedback or statistics at all. I'm not saying the expansion will be bad, I'll probably enjoy it a lot. But I also won't trick myself into believing these devs are anything other than just lucky to have a hivemind all-accepting community that never points out their endless mistakes.

You’re condemning the entire community and development team because you’re not happy with the achievement system? I don’t understand what your gripe with the game actually is nor why you believe they wouldn’t improve on the shortcomings of EW or previous expansions. Especially when they recognize their shortcomings themselves. I not once remember them taking about achievements, nor the community. There’s more important things to gripe air than achievements. Ping being the top issue Over simplification of encounters Over simplification of jobs Lackluster rewards since heavensward Housing still a nightmare Just to name a few issues that would take issues with the game that would take priority of an achievements. And I don’t mean they shouldn’t rework them, but the community really doesn’t care about them. They could completely remove them from the game when the expansion drops and I don’t think more than a handful of players would notice, and even they would probably just move on shortly after lol.

I feel like Endwalker had all its "good stuff" frontloaded, and they kind of phoned it in towards the end, and the reason for that being that way more effort is being applied to Dawntrail. They're doing a major revamp of the graphics, they're starting a new story arc, and they need to focus on making Dawntrail good enough to stand on its own, and not just as a continuation to a very good story. I have a feeling though that Dawntrail's initial patch will be middling, like Stormblood levels of quality, but the post-patch stuff will be excellent.

I haven't been following all the new expac stuff all that closely, but is there any news on a possible change away from the 2 minute meta that all classes are forced to follow to do good damage? I'm not a big fan of it, since it makes all the classes feel pretty similar, so much so that I have friends that have said they're not even planning to buy Dawntrail.

It's been a wild ride. I was *sure* that DT would be a flop for me, but the past couple big news chunks have actually got me optimistic for DT and particularly for whatever 8.0 becomes. I'm still not really buying into MSQ, but as a *game*, it genuinely sounds like the dev team have accepted and acknowledged criticism of the game in EW (not just EW's issues but also issues the game has been carrying from before) and will be making adjustments in future releases. I still won't touch XIV until mods are updated, but I've gone from "maybe I'll get DT at some point" to "I'll probably get DT within the first couple months of release."

Get yourself a producer that understands he should delay his dlc because another dlc is coming that date. I agree it' probably both not wanting to compete and making sure players don't have to choose between the two. I know for a fact I would have tried to finish Elden Ring dlc first. A decision probably welcomed by the shareholders.

I pre-ordered. But I don't want to hype myself. Reson is simple. The more overhype one becomes, the more disapointed you will be. So I will go with the Gigi (from the goldmith guild) attitude. That way I will be plesurably surprised no matter what. Except of courtse if they met the expectations :)

I love ff 7,8, and 10 and 9 was not a lovable game for me. But I do love that Ark summon reminds me of ff 7 days I love the long animations I miss that. Its the era I'm from. The EPic era is what I miss. Already got my preorder when it was up. Will be loving that ark mount so I can have 2 transformable mounts that I will use a lot. i will use it more than my BA mount.

People in NA may not know that the ff14 producer of the Chinese servers had a presentation with YoshiP of 80 slides that laid out all kinds of problem the game currently has given by the direct feedback from Chinese players (jobs, rewards, game modes everything) that otherwise won’t be conveyed to Yoship from Japanese employees. It really helped and reassured YonshiP to change the direction of the game.

I like but also dislike that normal content is apparently getting more difficult. It should be a positive thing for the game, but somehow it's not because there has been no mention of "skill checks" being required to progress through the game as of yet. Simply put, FFXIV desperately needs the average player to improve. The only thing that's going to force that is adding mandatory road blocks like DPS check striking dummies and mini mechanic-heavy solo fights between each expansion. These would ensure people actually know what they're doing and aren't being a burden to every group they join. Sadly I don't think this will ever happen, Yoshi and the rest of the team don't have the spine to tell people they need to actually learn the game to continue.

Yoshi and the devs definitely need to put something in between the causal content and the hard core stuff like savage and ultimate because ATM there isn't much to bridge that gap and alot of people find the skill gap between causal content and hard core content to daunting so they will never do it

I think you mistake two things here. The Average player is average and usually arent "bad" players or need to get better. They already beat the game and the mandatory content to reach the end of the story, so they were able to do the content, so why should they need to improve? Savage is not mandatory neither are Unreals. You either have no concept of the Average Joe or you mean Sprouts.

@@MichaSennin What I mean by a bad average is how often dungeons end up taking 20 minutes due to bad overall DPS and how people with hundreds or thousands of hours in the game still can't figure out basic normal mode mechanics. Both of these stem from the fact that the game never teaches the player anything, and if somebody doesn't want to go out of their way to learn they can very easily just get carried through the entire story with minimal effort.

I really want the Viper already. I loved the Rogue story and like some others I have seen talking online was disappointed when the progression was ninja. Ninjas are just kinda over done and lame for me at this point. Viper seems to continue on with the rogue aesthetic that I really wanted. If the skills are cool/good then I will definitely be playing that a bunch.

I mean, my one big hope for 7.0, is when they change up the combat flow again (which they do every expansion) they get away from the 2min burst window. That has been the one thing I've disliked the most. I'm still not going into the expansion with much hype or expectation, just more so going to wait and see for the most part on what they plan to do.
