Wow, Harry’s start was absurd. I can’t remember seeing a deck ramp so hard so quickly. Seemed a little OP’d for the table, but cool to see.

Honestly after seeing that start from Harry, I would have purposefully let Ryan win with Revel in Riches just to spite Titania and watch all of those insanely expensive cards be worthless compared to some Pirate Treasure

I would say the same, but honestly being there not wanting to lose maybe I would have done the same. But would had gotten a better deal than 1 turn w/o attacks. Like 3 I would have got.

I'm not sure why Ryan didn't play out his commander before OR after Tithe. For starters, he dumped allot of his hand out, yet didn't get any Daxos experience counters. If he had Daxos out, it might have been able to sac enough treasure to make blockers and survived.

I see a lot of matches from MTGMuddstah and I like, If not all, at least something like 98% of the matches I can see. However, the real match I would like to see, at least once, is a match with a Nekusar commander, and I've never saw one in the channel =(

Damn this has inspired me to upgrade my own Titania deck a bit Never thought about using Temur Sabertooth to reuse Titania's/AoZ's ETBs before
@simonbaath3612
@simonbaath3612 4 жыл бұрын
I use the same tactic in my Chulane deck, but having access to blue and white I can bounce creatures like Fiend Hunter using Temur Sabertooth and Shrieking Drake, exiling stuff permanently. It's not as rampy as a true mono green deck but it provides a lot more control and interaction. I think I prefer that approach as opposed to the pure ramp and no interaction of a Titania deck. My deck is quite well built now, but refuse to pay that much for cards like Exploration, Oracle of Mul Daya and Azusa. I run my Courser of Kruphix and discount-exploration (Wayward Swordtooth) which works better with Chulane's creature-triggers anyhow. Perfectly fine with those two :). Also, since my deck is creature heavy and I like money for stuff other than Magic, I will probably go for "only" Ithlimoc, Cradle of the Sun instead of Gaea's Cradle. It is a bit slower, but not by much, and as I said, I do like money ;).
@g.sergiusfidenas6650
@g.sergiusfidenas6650 4 жыл бұрын
That cat is a must include in any creature heavy deck with green IMO, besides his use as a combo piece in degenerate decks, it is also a value generator as seen here and with enough mana greatly mitigates the impact of sweepers, that card got to be one of the most broken non rare non legendary creatures green has access to.

As soon as I saw that Turn 3 from Harry I paused the video and skipped to the end and - what a surprise - Harry won. r/EDH has been talking about how over-powered Mono-Green is - even more than Black. This just proves it. What a waste of a game.

Idk, mono green is really great, but it lacks creature removal and all of its card draw is completely dependent on creatures being present (aside from Sylvan Library and odd artifacts or a random Nissa that draws lands). Mono green is just ramp, and the win conditions are exclusively combat based. If you can't go to combat or if you are forced to choose between phases for any reason (see Fatespinner) you are slowed down SO much because you have the exact same issue Smothering Tithe has- all ramp and no backup outlet when yours is destroyed. Sure, green has creature tutors, but Black just has tutors- literally the BEST kind. Plus Green doesn't have ANY ways to interact with the stack outside of a couple of really old cards that are barely playable and Veil of Summer which can't mitigate the issue by itself. And on top of that, Black just has straight win conditions that break literally every opponent at the table as well as hyper efficient threats. Torment of Hailfire has killed me so many times it isn't even funny. Sudden Spoiling is basically the Black Cyclonic Rift because not only does it completely nullify combat, it straight up gives you the best possible blocking ability. Black just has cards that win the game. Green basically has to rely on the same thing it has literally always had- ramp and some big dumb dudes. Not to mention that table had a mono white Elesh Norn (the weakest of all mono colors with a high costing commander attached to it). No offense to Trevor, but his list wasn't in the same power level base as a completely decked Titania. You know what made Titania so good? Reserved list cards. Don't hate out green for sins committed by fast mana rocks and Gaea's Cradle. The Cradle may be exclusively green, but even Black has Cabal Coffers AND Urborg. Not to mention another (albeit slightly worse) variant of Cabal Coffers as well as access to Nykthos. I'm just saying, green sees a lot of play because sometimes it is fun to smash people with lands instead of destroying their entire boardstate repeatedly while tutoring up responses to everything.
