No instructor could crack the code that Jonny did during my swim lessons with him a few weeks ago. Best swimming coach ever! I corroborate his remarks about beating the fear by lowering one’s body in the water at the beginning of this video. This totally did the trick for me. I’m so grateful for the significant increase in my comfort level while in the water which is allowing me to advance in my swimming journey. All thanks to Jonny at Rocket! 🙌🏽

l decided l needed to over come my fear of the water as l nearly drowned years ago. So last year at 60 years old, I did a 5 week swimming course, plus this year a 12 week course so that l could learn more techniques in swimming! l was truly lucky to have awesome teachers in both courses who helped me to overcome my fears and learn to love being in the water again whom l can't thank enough! l love watching your videos as l still love learning something new. You are an amazing instructor who truly cares for his clients plus teaching others who are watching. I am also subscribed, l tell people about your videos while l am in the pool and l share them too. 😀

I AM PROUD TO SAY I did the kicking the legs and moving my arms in one spot. Also, I got the floating thing down a little bit not used to it. But now... I can swim backwards, moving on my chest feels like falling hehe :3 I had help from someone else but he showed me the moving your arms back and forth angling the hands. I remembered your video on that and added kicking my legs. I was moving! I got movement (crying) I am so happy

Thank you for making these videos. I have just started swimming lessons a week ago, and been back twice (1 hour each) to get familiar and comfortable in the water. So far so good, I left the kickboard on the side the last time and swam from the edge to the middle of the pool where I'm just about to touch the bottom. Still, I swam like a submarine - didn't know how to come up for air! But I have been enjoying fully submerge in the water and seeing through the goggles. Able to see clearly underwater makes a massive difference to me. Tomorrow I return for the second time. My membership at the local pool is 4x30 mins lesson a month, I know it isnt the same as learning to swim in 4 days but am taking it slowly and hope in 12 months I will be able to swim a set of laps across the full length of the pool, in one of the four strokes. Your videos help me a lot, to practise on my own using your tips outside of the lessons. Thank you for your encouragement to your students and patience in explaining.

Wow, thank you for sharing your journey with me! It sounds like you're making amazing progress in such a short time. Clearly seeing underwater is like discovering a whole new universe, isn’t it? Don’t worry about swimming like a submarine; the fact that you're comfortable in the water is a huge step. Breathing will come with time and practice. You’re on the right track, taking it slow and building up your confidence and skills. I’m so happy that my videos are helping you along the way! Keep up the great work, and I’m cheering for you!

Hey bro I became addicted to your channel when you were training that ex-marine, you got him swimming in 4 days! However I really have difficulty swimming because of the water getting in my nose, and I try to breathe underwater, but I don't last long. How do I find a good instructor like yourself? I live in the UK in a small city called Southampton, I have tried many instructors and I just don't like them, What is it that I am doing wrong? What should I be looking for and how do I find a good instructor?

The main problem I think in trying to swim is lack of breath because it makes muddles you're thinking and you forget what you were supposed to do. I'm from the State of Kerala which is in India abd have been trying to take a side breath for weeks.

I’m really glad to hear you’ve been enjoying the channel! Working with Mark was really great. When looking for an instructor, I’d suggest focusing on someone who really listens to your concerns and is patient in helping you work through them. It’s not just about their technical skills, but also about how they make you feel in the water. A good instructor should make you feel comfortable and confident, like they’ve got your back every step of the way. Sometimes word of mouth can lead you to someone who’s a perfect fit for you. And hey, if you ever need more advice, I’m here to help! Keep going-you’ve got this!

It is most likely because of your head. Make sure your head position is neutral. Your head acts as a steering wheel when swimming.
