They do enforce the rule on camping there was a rainvstorm when I was on conic hill and I had a warden ask me why I set my tent up(it was to get out the rainbstorm)

Hi there. We live in Edinburgh. Next time you are over I suggest heading for the cairngorms. I don't hike at quite your AT level but I have enjoyed the extended Lairig Ghru from Blair atholl to aviemore.l (40 miles) You may enjoy a longer run on the Scottish national trail. Either way you will find the remoteness of the Cairngorms much quieter than the WHW. I have been putting off the WHW due to the busy nature. But I'm finally doing it next week just to stop the endless question as a walker here in Scotland.

@7:55 - 8:55 yep, I go through that at the start of a (popular) hike. I don't even think I walk that fast, but always can see I'm catching someone. Did WHW a year ago and by far, for me, the most populous one I've done and fully aware I was part of the masses.

It's the most enjoyable video. Brought back sp.mamy memories. You said you would be back next year. I suggest you take a look at The Devils Pulpit, a short distance off the WHW and The Lost Valley, which is stunning. It's a little further off the trail but an easy walk.

Hi Christina we have just discovered your channel and have been watching West Highland Way posts with interest. You really have added lots of detail others who have done that trail have not. Thanks so much it’s been so entertaining too. ‘Oh my word’ you sounded really English! And we also follow Girl Outdoors and Jake! Must have been fun to chat to Jake. Looking forward to catching up on all your other posts….Tim & Selina

@@davesgreatescapes Hi Dave! Yea, i retired 3 years ago at age 46 after i thru-hiked the 2200-mile Appalachian Trail. The hike took 6 months and so life-changing that I decided to retire cause I realized I didnt need to have more and more money. Before that, I was materialistic.

Try St Cuthbert's Way. 100-kms, starts Scottish Borders town and ends Lindisfarne (holy Island) off the coast of Northumberland, England. Lindisfarne is stunning. I am in training now before trying my first trail and got inspired to try a walking holiday when I visited holy Island last year. No idea what the walk is like and it doesn't seem to be a super popular route so couldn't find too much info... thats another reason why I though it would be good. Not too many people for me to embarrass myself infront of ;)

I agree! I enjoyed my time on WHW...it wasn't a hard trek, met nice people, new friends. I think when wildcamping, I can control where I camp between towns and leave before the BnB people leave therefore it won't be too crowded
