My problem with Navezgane has always been the Trader locations. Trader Joel was out in the middle of nowhere and it made early game questing really suck, because everything ended up being so far away.

Each biome, and where the trader is located in each biome, will be the challenge. The forest is plentiful in resources, but sparse in looting. Getting through the first horde is going to take some luck relying on the forest

As someone who's doing a Navazgane series atm, and has just gotten a bicycle on day 10 (!) , I wholeheartedly concur.

*Gen: when looting nests, first destroy the nest and then gather the bag of items that drop. You get the items from destroying the nest AND the loot in the nest. It’s much faster to get feathers this way!! 😉👍🏻*

GNS found out on his last series that there is a glitch where cops and screamers (and probably all zombies) can see through any shapes but the standard block and will actively try to shoot at you/scream through them. Don’t know if they fixed it for v1.0 but I doubt it.

It isn’t any shape. It’s shapes that don’t cover more than 50% (ish) of the block space, or don’t -cover- the middle of the block entirely. Will edit with who did the video covering it. Cops will try to spit at your head, if they can see it. Stop them from seeing it and they basically stop spitting.

The thing I noticed after watching a few people is that it seems like you'll find some kind of a decent weapon on your first day. Seen people find a hunting knife, toilet pistol, a blue wood club in wasteland, a stun baton - those are all good finds on day one. Haven't seen that since before Alpha 20. Maybe they did that because you no longer get weapons and tools as quest rewards? I guess we'll see how many pop up in loot containers.

Yeah it just seemed like they were all finding good weapons on day one. I mean the last game I had I was up to day 7 and I think the best thing I had was pipe weapons.

I love the new dew collector. I play solo and have plenty of water. I bought the 3 dew collector mods from Rekt as I could afford them, starting with the filter. I get 2 jars of clean water when leaving home in the morning, and come back from a days work to 6 jars. The filter is expensive, but worth it to not have to boil water and then cook it again in a beverage. I now throw away murky water from looting because it isn't used in recipes.

That is a nice convenience; A20 and before water was too easy with the mass producing jars and getting hundreds of jars of water out of a puddle

That's weird seeing Rekt now at Joel's old spot. I built two bases across the street from there - great central location. Always found massive amounts of ores all over the place around there.

The thing that makes Navezgane tough is everything is all spread out - takes you longer to do quests because you're on foot or on a slow-ass bike.

The Trader Huge quests were a lot of fun - they take you way up in the mountains where there's a lot of new things like twisty trails and upper-class log cabins. Nice covered footpath goes across the river now.

Yep that will be the challenge; I will be rushing for the first week to get strong enough to survive the horde, as well as the move to the next biome/trader

The house you see at the 4 way up the road from where you built is the house I took over in my first game game of 1.0 in Navezgane. I have turned in into a castle now with a landing pad for the Gyrocopter.

Nice; that's the interesting thing about this game, you tend to build memories around certain areas or POI's that stick with you after spending so much time in them. For me, that is the places like the old ski lodge in A16, the ranger station by the lake near the desert city in A17, etc.

@@Genosis I just picked it up a week or two before the 1.0 experimental released and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. The problem is the game was updated and it reset my character. My world is fine with the base and everything I had built but it started me over at level 1 with no progression. So that is my current situation. I need to figure out how to make copies of my saves and do that every night.

If you face the walls the opposite direction and put in outside block you can still put items against the wall fyi

Bob's Boars has the super corn plants, but also has a chest with 5 seeds and the recipe for supercorn seeds. So I'd not wait to get it - assuming you are kitted up to take on a tier 3 POI with Grace :)

I'm not on board with the armour sets. Aside from the fact that I like playing dress-up with my game characters, it seems like a less versatile game mechanic. The set bonuses seem by and large to be so situational that you're likely to be carrying at least a few sets with you to switch between, and that is pretty cumbersome... literally. The system may have benefits that aren't apparent to me now, we'll see how it works out.

It seems there is more benefit to mixing and matching sets to your play style, the sum of any one full set seems to fall short. I’ll give it some time but the old system seemed fine the way it was. I foresee a mod where all the perks are stripped off, new armor mods are made to replace the perks, more slots added. That way people can take the variety of looks from the armor and build it based on utility and style to their preference.

After watching creators play release 1.0, I feel like the graphics have gone back several alphas. Less detail, softer focus, grayed out zombies. I don't like it!

I've heard a lot of folks disliking the zombie coloring; I suppose I didn't really mind too much, hopefully they will add some additional options regarding coloring the graphics. Could also be a resolution bug or something
