No idea about suggestions But i must say, it was definitely a relief seeing a fight in an apartment tower without the risk of teleporting into a freefall. That being said i didn't expect the consequences of doing that to your enemies to be so dire (im assuming the boomer that fell 4 stories, since it still exploded. Was what drew that massive horde)

9:00 Thankfully I'm assuming the apocalypse turned the gas off, because otherwise smashing open a gas stove might not be the wisest decision. Great way to make an explosion if an unfortunate series of events happens though.
@AreimaYTАй бұрын
With how power and such is simulated it seems to be the lore excuse that the portal storms knocked basically all utilities out universally. Although I'd love to see a gas explosion in a game like Zomboid, where the utilities stay on for a week or so. XD

my best ever run in CDDA was with a character with the light magic skills. Night Eyes let you become a beast at night, crawling the streets with a bow and arrow, or perhaps a long spear. Zombies have crap dark vision, so a silent, deadly weapon means you can take them out with impunity.
@AreimaYTАй бұрын
Bow, long spear and night vision? Perhaps check my Vellum series, you are basically describing that run, haha!!

quick suggestion: try not to pick up too many psionic paths, each one spreads out your learning of them more. so with two paths, it will take approximately twice the time to get to say, one of the current apex powers of telekinesis, than if you only had that one path.
@AreimaYTАй бұрын
Yeah, I agree with this. This is also why I started with a crystal. Often times when you finally find a crystal its colored and to get it to black (to train with) your forced to learn a new path. I plan on keeping only these two paths the entire run.

YES! I was at least half-right with the psionics! Though I was hoping for Mutant I'm sure there are Bionics geared twoards psychic powers right?
@AreimaYT2 ай бұрын
Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder why I took robust genetics? XD Bionics are kinda their own thing, from vanilla. But they mesh well with psionics
@billyhelbert66862 ай бұрын
@@AreimaYT Okay, I might've missed that. But depending on the mutation they really don't play well with bionics I don't think. But hey, this is coming from a guy that hasn't played the game in... like a year at least? Still excited to see where it goes though! And the base story you've laid out is already intriguing! But I forsee you meditating a lot to improve your psychic powers cause I imagine the bionics power source and psychic eating into stamina/caloric intake will be irritating to manage until you upgrade your bionic power source.
@AreimaYT2 ай бұрын
@billyhelbert6686 Yeah I will have to be careful combining bionics/mutations together. Which is part of why I took Robust. If I mutate a limb/part that already has a bionic, the bionic will pop off and I won't be able to reinstall it. I plan to be more focused on bionics, but there are a few Chimera mutations I really really want. Edit: yeah the calorie cost of Bionic/Psionics will be a struggle in the beginning. Tbh a struggle I'm looking forward to overcoming with a solid food setup late-early to midgame.
@billyhelbert66862 ай бұрын
@@AreimaYT Can't wait to see how this goes! Also does the Mind over Matter mod have any psychic specific mutations or no? Just curious.
@cakedrewАй бұрын
@@billyhelbert6686 sort-of, but its more a couple of abilities you learn to use. otherwise the only mutations are the passive traits you get from each path. the mod has a whole lot of special crafting recipes though.

Just a bit of a retrospective, but the makeshift crowbar is kinda... useless? if you have a hammer. The hammer is more portable, and the pipe+fittings lets you make a pipe mace, which is both a better weapon and bashing tool. I feel like a lot of CDDA players default to the crowbar to start off out of sheer habit more than anything else.
@AreimaYTАй бұрын
I made it before finding the hammer, because I needed the prying to dissasemble some things. I agree its redundant, but sometimes having redundancies can be good, depending on what resources you have.
