Sam Briggs is a legend and an inspiration to me being an athlete over 40 myself. It's so inspirational to see athlete over 40 being able to compete side by side with much younger athletes who are at the peak. I hope she can qualify for the Crossfit games

Commentators completly snubbing WIlly Georges on the 1st wod never mentionning his name until he got 4th, while it was clear he was making a BIG move on the second run ( look at his strides and pace ). And again on the second wod, kinda ignoring the fact that he was in the mix until he made his push... I think he now recalled to their good memories... and they will look at him on day 2 & 3

Awfull transmission. An entire wod with the camera closed on Samantha Briggs. We didn't have a glimpse of the other athletes. The workout ended and the camera continued on Samantha Briggs for another 10 seconds or more when everybody else was still competing. Btw I have nothing against Briggs, she's a phenomenal athlete

In this day and age, for a company as big as CrossFit to put on the screen that PD Savage is from Portadown, England despite having an Irish flag beside his name and talking about how he plays Gaelic football and hurling, is an absolute disgrace. CrossFit should be so embarrassed

Kinda irritated that the European commentator pronounces all names correctly and the US one doesn't even try. I know there are many athletes, but this are semifinals already. Show some respect by writing down how to pronounce athletes names. It's like I started calling all Justins from English speaking countries "Yousteen" because that's how you pronounce that name in my country.

It’s making me nuts. Normal “American” accent… let’s pronounce this name like we speak with a “French” accent all of the time 🤦♂️
@beckyblue9212 жыл бұрын
@@mabryfish5395 so would you prefer people to intentionally mispronounce your name just because they’re not the same nationality as you?? It’s respectful at least to try and get names right, they’re doing their best!
@sarasmith71502 жыл бұрын
@@mabryfish5395 you're kidding right? Mads Jacobsen, who was commentating, is Danish and lives in Sweden. Yes, when he speaks English, it's with an American accent which is very typical. He's the only commentator I've heard who will pronounce Northern European athlete's names the way they were intended to be spoken - because he's from Northern Europe.

I respect their fitness, as someone who trains regularly and with a high intensity routine. I can appreciate the athletism. But seriously, why do so much of the exercises have the women looking so manly. Only some of them have womanly physiques, but the majority of them look like power lifters. Very top heavy. Yuck 🤮
