Here's another insane DL guy: Bill Kazmaier in the 1980's. He did the equivalent of an "elephant bar" DL in 1980 or so with about 1080 lbs. Nobody exceeded Bill's lift in a strongman final until the Arnold Strongman Classic elephant bar DL in the mid 2000's . That was the era Zydrunas Savickas dominated. Kazmaier had a then WR Deadlift in a powerlifting contest with no straps at around 410 KG or 905 lbs He was truly ahead of his time. That was because he was pulling that kind of weight at only 6-3 and 320 lbs. He'd be the smallest of the guys today.

I think you did well to keep this more chronological. People would complain if you put Eddie at the end again. It really shows how amazing his lift was, and his rise from struggling with 461 to easily doing 463, to doing 465 as a warmup, and then doing a lift that, in international refereed competition has not yet been beaten now, 7 years on. I do respect Thor's lift, but it isn't a good context to do it in. Maybe after his powerlifting stint, he can try to come back for the strongman deadlift world record wholesale.

some great lifting ... I'm not sure what the rules are here though, because in traditional powerlifting, many of those lifts were "no lifts" and would have received 3 reds. Issues being, you can't hitch the bar up, as soon as the bar stops moving it's a no lift, and you have to fully lock your shoulders back... Not doubting the strength of these fellas, I'm sure they'd still lift a lot with power lifting rules, but can anyone explain the context/rules in these comps though compared to power lifting ??
