I've watched at least a half dozen videos with the C8 Corvette being used with QuickJacks... You are the ONLY one to demonstrate them being used in the correct orientation for a mid-engine vehicle. Thank you!
@NuHorizonC82 ай бұрын
Haha im glad I did it right then 😅. Thats kind of terrifying to hear people not using these in the right orientation as its reeeally important to get the most stable platform when your working on the car!

I have a 2021 c8 and been flirting with the quickjacks but wasn’t sure which one to get. Thanks man. I am glad you showed below your car as I can see you have the red aluminum pucks which I too installed in my C8 Vette.

The XLS version may be too long for other cars you may have . Quick Jack “ encouraged “ me to consider the standard size and buy the extensions they offer to fit the C8 if that were the case . Just an FYI
@carbon65872 ай бұрын
I bought a set of these about 2 years ago and have never regretted it. I have a C7 Carbon 65 Z06 along with 2 more cars and this works fantastic. I use the wall hangers to store them when they are not in use so it takes up no room in my garage. Great video and thanks for sharing.

Quickjacks have a mechanical lock system. There is no concern with it falling as long as you make sure it is locked and then back off all of the hydraulic pressure. Love this system, it works great!
@TruthZerumTV2 ай бұрын
I have mine mounted on the wall, with the hydraulic unit stored in a cabinet nearby. I had to order the extensions when I switched from the 370Z Nismo to the C8. The Vette is much longer than the Z.

Thanks for sharing. What’s the update on the floor? One thing I would recommend get yourself some old school manual jack stands and place them under your car when you are under it. If the hydraulics ever fail you, there is some manual support to save you from being crushed. And yes - I am sure there is a locking pin on your new one. Better safe than sorry. I use a complete lift in my garage and I still use all 4 lever locks manually on it too.
@NuHorizonC82 ай бұрын
Hey James thanks for commenting! The floors are actually done now and are looking fantastic! I just havent posted the video yet of the install but its coming (working on the video atm) 😎. I cant wait to share it! And as for the quickjacks, they have a built in hard locking mechanism so they dont rely on the hydraulics to hold in place in case of failure. In fact the manual says it should always be left in a locked position before working under the car. But i agree having that second set of safety in place is better safe than sorry.

Im getting old and the cars are getting too high tech to be messing with them too much. Other then some bolts on I wont be messing around with it like I used to. Its defiantly a great system for those that plan to tinker with it. Im glad you got the garage floor done. I was worried about all the fluid on the floor. There was more wet spots then on Bidens bedsheet..lol I cant wait to see the next mods. You should try to the front pre-cut xpel and do a detailed show on that. Other then the bumper, the hood and others sections dont seem bad. I think its like $400-500. I hate the idea of paying someone $2-3K just to do that part of the car. 😢

Great Job carlos. Really appreciate your vid. You mentioned using the low profile puck. In addition to that do you also use the round red lift pucks that you can buy from paragon?
@NuHorizonC82 ай бұрын
Hey thanks Clay! Yes I should have mentioned it in the video if i hadnt that any lifting ot C8s should also use some of the red/black jack pucks like the ones you can buy from any reputable manufacturer like paragon or acs composite. It acts as the solid lifting point for the C8 to ensure its stable and doesnt go anywhere
@ageo7512Ай бұрын
I have the same question. Will either the 2 or 3" rubber blocks fit
@NuHorizonC8Ай бұрын
So the 2" blocks should fit IF your C8 has an OEM ride height and hasnt been lowered. If your C8 is lowered, youll need the low profile blocks. Either way though id still recommend the low profile blocks. They are a bit wider than the ones that come with the lift kit. It makes it WAYYY easier to line up the lifts to the pucks as the original blacks are kind of skinny
@BigOsTaco12 күн бұрын
What I didn’t get a chance to see which rubber blocks did you use. Did you use the medium ones or low profile ones?
@NuHorizonC812 күн бұрын
@@BigOsTaco hey glad the video helped! So i would highly recommend the low profile rubber blocks. They are wider and give you a bit larger range of fitment when you go to align the quickjacks onto the metal pucks.

Dide. Really appreciate your video. I now have to convince the ball and chain if I can spend about $1,500 - $2,000 on the system lol. I want to do my own transmission filter replacements. Dealers are charging and arm and a leg to do it here. Gonna hit you up with a subscription too. Thanks
@NuHorizonC812 күн бұрын
@BigOsTaco i appreciate it bud and trust me if your into doing DIY maintenance work at MINIMUM, this system will eventually pay for itself and then some. I wish i had gotten this system years ago honestly. You wont be disappointed! 👍😎. And thanks for the sub!

Hey Nuhorizon C8 you have a nice start on your garage project. Why not go the extra and get your crappy floor done. I had TSR coatings do mine in 022 and I absolutely love it. I’m sure there are some polyurethane coating companies in your area.

@@NuHorizonC8 I love mine, I actually speed wax mine with some cheaper speed wax I try and don't like lol, its slick, its shiny, I work on my C8 in socks, I love being able to lay on my floor and not get dirty. Also don't forget to get some C8 wall art.

Did the smaller blocks that come with the QJ fit or is it necessary to get the low profile blocks like you did? Thanks
@NuHorizonC8Ай бұрын
So the smaller blocks from the lift kit will fit IF you have oem ride height although its pretty close. If you plan to lower your C8, id recommend getting the low profile blocks. Also the low profile blocks are wider so it does make it easier to get the lift centered on the pucks for the C8 so either way i still recommend getting them. Makes set up way less stressful
