Yuumi honestly deserves a place in the game. I do like this champion - I just want to see her put right. This is CLOSER to right I think, or at least I hope it is.

After trying a few games with Comet and pom/cut down secondary building into many different AP setups, I can confirm that building into Luden's poke still feels amazing once you've gotten used to the new Q and can consistently hit the empowered Q. It feels very powerful for those who still want to play that way. The AP ratios are actually pretty reasonable and you can pump out some serous numbers, considering the extended range. Great video! Despite the constant hate, I will always love this champ.

just wanna summarize some useful comments: ap yuumi with ludens can work if they are squishy (and u get some kills early on, sit onto dark seal !), everfrost is an option cause ur ult has no stun lock anymore so u can protect vs bruisers running u down, cut down plus PoM still might be ur best choice if u wanna have some more impact winning lane early on which this new yuumi can if ur adc is good and match up is good for u. i might be wrong on some points, but this is the information I found useful

I'm going to stand behind the "AP Yuumi is dead" stance, but there's some BASED damage tech that came up that I couldn't have foreseen before the video released. I keep getting comments about Luden's dealing giga damage but I'm SURE the item proc alone is giving people a dopamine hit. Yuumi's ratios are objectively terrible, and I wasn't going to explore damage Yuumi too deeply when Moonstone Yuumi was so blatantly overpowered on the PBE. But damage Yuumi is a playstyle that people still enjoy, and I'm now convinced that MANDATE Yuumi is the best way to play it. Instead of investing 3200G on boatloads of AP and mana that you're not going to use, you're getting a cheaper, STRONGER item proc on a spell that naturally sets up the ADC to pop Mandate passive. Mandate -> Sorcs -> Ardent is statistically insane as a damage playstyle (and I'm a HUGE Ardent hater, so it's a big deal that I'd advocate for it). AP Yuumi is dead. But you're RIGHT - damage Yuumi is alive if we get creative. I would still personally lean towards Moonstone being stronger in comp, but the numbers absolutely argue for Mandate being the best in solo queue.

Ive played around on it and I can say for surety . AP yuumi isn't dead, but it is restricted , you only can perform on it if the other team draft squishy champions as you no longer have the %hp damage to deal with tanks. You 100% can go inspiration second but I think PoM/cut down will still pan out at her main second page, even though Q poke isn't what is going to make your AD carry strong late game you still need to be able to threaten some pressure in the early game, without cutdown it is VERY noticeable that you lack strong poke and allows the adc to disrespect you a lot more without you punishing them for stepping out of line.

What do you think about everfrost yuumi? Couldn't everfrost be viable mythic option for yuumi as it provides both an offensive engage tool and a peel tool for her AD carry? She also benefits from the item's stats it provides as most of her kit still scales with ap. Everfrost also gives ability haste and mana which synergies well with yuumi's kit. The buildpath for the item is also comparable to moonstone and it is only 300 gold more than moonstone. The AP still helps yuumi with more Q dmg, which is still pretty significant in lane for harass. Everfrost is also a really gold efficient and I think this could potentially make this item just as good as, if not better than moonstone as even behind, everfrost can keep her adc alive for longer while providing more utility. Also, with supp legendary items usually being on the cheaper side, stacking everfrost mythic passive is easier and allows for even more ap.

everfrost is rly good on yuumi, it was even picked in pro play a few times, but its not that good if ur solo queue cause whoever ur on might turn another direction and fuck up your everfrost

@@bodycrosses everfrost casting on yuumi is actually not affected my her adc to my knowledge, or at least it doesn’t lock her adc in location during cast and I’m PRETTY sure you can target the direction of everfrost

@@alltieo6398 it is. the everfrost cone moves with ur adc, but no it doesnt lock them down. but its more like.. lets say you have a caitlyn, and instead of having the same idea as you she E's out of a fight, and you everfrost, she messed it up. or if an ezreal teleports, or if a kalista autos. its really adc & game specific.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it in theory - the cone deals decent damage and I can imagine the CC getting some value - but I do think it's REALLY restricted. Relative to the enchanter items, much of the value is in its raw AP, and sure, Yuumi still DOES scale with AP, but the numbers are not high. Offensive value is limited by ADC positioning, and its defensive value is arguably redundant as your ultimate alone SHOULD on paper effectively peel your carry the same way (even if obviously a heal + slow is a different form of peel than a root). Again, it's really not a bad idea. But I personally think that if you're going down this route, Shurelya's is for you. At least in that case it's not redundant as there's also the potential for offensive value.

Moonstone was nerfed recently, right? I usually start with shurelya's now. For my second item I used to build Mikael's but now I usually build ardent censer instead, followed by mandate and chemtech putrifier. Why is ardent so bad? Should I switch it for Mikael/redemption?

Correct on Moonstone. 13.12 brought it back into a usable state for champions with extremely short heal/shield cooldowns (not Yuumi), or for champions relying ENTIRELY on a single moment of AoE healing/shielding in a specific game. Yuumi can get major R value, but it's niche against Shurelya's and Helia. My personal favourite way to play Yuumi after her own nerfs is to rush Mandate (yes, even after Mandate nerfs). Her util numbers are just not very high high right now so I find that opting into earlier damage gives me the means to contribute positively to the game before a 2-item spike. Since we're relying mainly on Mandate's passive to deal damage rather than its raw AP value, it's far stronger than the now-dead AP playstyle. As for Ardent - you're fine to keep building it. When this video released, Ardent had three major issues that kept it one of your worst options. It had a 3-wide build-patch (making completion as a support on 2nd/3rd item awkward), it offered no ability haste to the most haste-reliant class in the game, and its on-hit value was not high enough to overcome the general principle that providing defensive coverage to your marksman is more valuable than amping their already excellent damage. After 13.10, the buildpath was improved and Ardent's competitors lost their haste. There was even a short period on 13.10/13.11 when the on-hit value was ALSO broken, making it the best enchanter item in the game - so it really lost all of its major problems. It's a solid item nowadays and I will not complain if you build it. As long as you have a reason for your decisions, you're completely fine to build whatever you choose right now.

Played against full AP yuumi earlier today, with only ludens, she was getting ADC to half health in 2 Q’s.

If you're going to spend 3200G on AP items as a support, it has to be overwhelmingly more appealing than Shurelya's or Moonstone, and AP Yuumi only really empowers one ability. It was definitely worth it when Yuumi's Q dealt incredible % current HP damage and COULD NOT BE MISSED. On current Yuumi, sure Q has outstanding range and can really be a nuisance, until players learn to walk with their waves and refuse to play Yuumi's game. It's expensive, mistake-reliant, and should only get value on objective setups while disregarding the rest of Yuumi's insane kit. I think I was a bit too harsh in the video with calling it "dead" though - it's definitely casually viable, and it probably works just fine on release patch solo queue when people aren't used to dealing with Q yet. The H/S builds are just so obscenely broken next to a competent ADC that I saw no reason to explore AP more deeply than what I described.
