Love your videos, you are so upbeat and cheerful! Many of the local fire districts that specialize in search and rescue have preplanned routs utilizing dirt roads and logging roads or trails they have cut into closer to shelters and/or points of interest along the trail. This reduces the amount of time when they are notified of an SOS or other emergency to get in as close as they can with a vehicle before they have to hike in to make a rescue. Many have six wheeler or four wheel drive vehicles that can carry in a stokes basket to facilitate in a rescue instead of carrying someone out the entire way.

Nice video, O" I heard a new way to hike the AT today Some'r miles... some are here and some are there kind of a helter-skelter way of hiking but as long as one gets all they miles in it doesn't matter they still are a thru-hiker. Beautiful views from Wayah Bald and I like your story about how to say it. Hike~~On~~>

A yellow blaze is not always a road as we have a yellow blazed trail that’s in the Dragon’s Tooth Area that is called the Boy Scout Trail. It’s a shoot off from the AT. Signage 07
