Cheers to you and Ziggy for engaging in a moment of laughter. That is a testament to your camaraderie and willingness to boost each other’s morale with personal insights. Kudos to the achievement of the day. The trail views are outstanding. Thanks for paying tribute to the 9/11 rock memorial flag. Pizza is a superfood. In fact, there is a Super Slice of pizza at the Pizza Barn in Yonkers, NY. The slice is two feet long. Considered one of the world's largest slices!🍕 Wishing you safe passage, success, and mighty fine hiking. Happy Trails!

your positive attitude and resilience keep bringing me back to your vlog. Very much enjoying your journey and experience. Does Ziggy want to know how to hold his poles correctly? Been watching him for hundreds of miles using them incorrectly.!! LOL.... Not criticizing....just asking.

You're right to take it easy. It's not a race to the finish; it's as long as you finish in the end, whenever that is. High heat & humidity just sap the strength out of humans (most mammals). 11+ miles is still very good. 12 miles per day *on average* will complete the AT within 6 months. I'd say you're on schedule or even ahead of schedule.

Your doing a good job of hiking at a sensible pace in the very hot humid weather! It's pizza time on the Appalachian trail! Yummy!😅😊

I agree with your smarter self about doing shorter miles in those temperatures. Of course, there's always hiking in the dark early in the morning and/or at night, but that seems a bit extreme unless you have time constraints and are behind schedule to finish your thru-hike by a certain date. I love the sections of your videos where we are looking forward on the trail and just seeing and hearing what you're experiencing. It brings back fond memories of backpacking with my friends back in the day. You and Ziggy appear to make a good team. Happy trails.

Smart to do lower miles during those hot days. I learned the hard way when I first got heat exhaustion not far from there.

Heat & humidity - trademarks of the New York metropolitan area - they go with the territory. But just think - the slower pace will take you past the heart of the dreaded black-fly season further north. By the time you reach the black-flies, they'll be mostly gone for the year. And the two of you were wolfing that New York style pizza - none better, anywhere. Be well, stay safe. 🥾
