Day 12 Karumba to Burketown Conquering Fear

Left karumba, loved that place, the people, the feel....finally ready to conquer my fears of riding on dirt. As i was driving out of Karumba a big long, brown snake with a black head crossed my path. I knew immediately that this dirt journey would define whether i do the 307 dirt track across the top of Australia.
I hadn't been long on the journey when 4 Black Cockatoos crossed my path. Thank u universe. This was closely followed by a Wedge Tailed Eagle. I thanked the universe and rode on in confidence.
Once i hit the dirt, i Naturally stood up for the bumpier sections. I found this much easier to ride. More enjoyable and easier than riding the tar. Tillie was made for this type of riding and so ate it alive.
We came to our destination, Liechardt Falls, but I felt like riding on so I ended up in Burketown. Camped up next to the 80 plus year old street. Don quickly took me under his wing and informed me about what to expect on the coming dirt....dogs and bad fellas. Not what i wanted to hear.
My body was tired as from the 60 odd kms of dirt I'd just done. I started questioning my ability to physically handle 307 kms. ,,,,
