Thank you for your wise words Dr. Shefali. I've been struggling with this same issue for my entire life. I come from a Indian culture and narrative with expectations. I'm in my 30s not married without any children. I've been alone for a while now. This pandemic hasn't changed much for me. I've always lived my life alone. I don't fit into the mold of what was expected of me. I'm trying to be the best version of myself without internalizing the expectations. I've grown so accustomed to being alone. Thank you for shedding light on this. It's not easy but you are right we are born alone we will die alone.

Thank you for talking so candidly. It feels like such deep truths that it makes me want to throw my daily cup of coffee at the wall because I have believed in so much falsity and lack. This one hits especially deep.

Dr. Shefali, I'm so, so, happy to hear this because you only confirmed how I believe. I thought I was the only one who do not miss my children. In fact, I'm so PROUD to be a witness, an observer, to see them grow and establish their life. I don't worry if they don't call often because it's amazing to when they call, they get to share what's been happening. I thought I had to be like other women who say, "I miss my babies" I wondered why I didn't feel that way. I was happy for them and for my new journey, alone. True, there was a transition but like anything in life. Accept the transition a

I've taught others this concept of each leading our own paths in our own time & believe it dearly, but was faced with it harshly this year after a heartbreak from December. He's on his own journey just as much as I'm on my own. I learned to trust in God & focus patiently on my own development

This is one of your best videos! SO powerful! So much truth and wisdom just flowing out of you! I 100% agree! Learning to TRULY love myself was one of the first realizations I had during quarantine...like I have no choice because it's just me, so I better learn to love my own company and it be good enough. It hasn't been the easiest, but I am so grateful for the opportunity to actually learn this lesson.

Awesome my sentiments exactly. Staying in is not a problem for me at all as I have given myself permission to be with me and to be in love with me. I embrace the girl in me,talk to myself have laughs with my self cultivate etc. It was normal for me to stay home after work ended on Friday until Monday morning. It's fun. You can't love another or truly appreciate them unless you first love yourself. I dress up for me and so even at home I choose to stay looking good. My partner appreciates it and so it adds value to the relationship.Be in love with self that would be me. Love it.

This is so wonderful as always. I have a question if I may. I'm going back to work with young people in the care system, how can I help empower them to know how wonderful they are as individuals and that they have purpose in the world right now?

For me its pointing them towards their point of power which is the choices we make. We can choice gratitude, acceptance, love, appreciation, creativity, joy, laughter, fun which is empowering or we can choose im not good enough, life is hard, being a victim its my parents fault, lifes fault, the police fault, malipuation, comparing or judging yourself to others is disempowering.
