I feel like I've finally put together Dr. Shefali's teachings and Eckhardt Tolle's about what the self really is. Dr. Shefali asks us, in the moment of the pandemic, to "find out who you really are" -- and I kept asking myself this question, realizing I don't know "who" I am... I only know what I am not. I am not my job, not my relationship, not my city, not my friend group, not my strong emotions, not my health -- none of these external signifiers or mutable states. And then I remembered what Eckhardt Tolle said, "You are that which observes this present moment". Who am I? I'm the observer, "I am"... just consciousness.Wild.
