Day 18 | YOKKAO Partners with UFC’s Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at Upstate Karate Dojo

It’s day 18 of the 2023 YOKKAO USA Tour! No day is quite like the last and this one is no exception to the highest degree! The YOKKAO Crew roll into Greenville, South Carolina to meet the UFC legend himself Stephen “Wonderboy” Thomson and his incredible father Ray at the truly incredible Upstate Karate Center. This is a Dojo like no other! Stephen and Ray are pillars of the Simpsonville community, with their absolute dedication to their students. Going far and beyond the port of call for any gym, these incredible people provide after-school care for all kids training within the Upstate Karate Center. From busses picking up the kids directly from school, driven by non other than the UFC superstar Stephen Thompson himself. To safe and secure classrooms for the kids to finish their homework before getting ready for class. It takes a special kind of person to be so dedicated to the future generations, teaching them not just martial arts but all the lessons it provides both in and outside of their Dojo. After the grand tour the YOKKAO Crew got to work with yet another stellar seminar to the incredibly respectful participants. From Saenchais iconic techniques to full sparring with the Upstate members, not to mentions a bit of fun at the end. Culminating in the signing of a partnership between YOKKAO and Upstate Karate, with aligning morals and principles the future is looking bright for all involved.
