Day 2 of the wildfire in Hope, British Columbia. Since yesterday the fire has spread and multiple areas are on a evacuation alert. So far no structures have been damaged. We’ll continue to document this event as it continues. Special thanks to all the helicopter pilots, fire crews, rcmp and everyone else who is working tirelessly to fight this massive wildfire.
All of our videos are upload in HD! We encourage you to check your settings and change them accordingly if your system doesn’t do it automatically.

I've been a wildland firefighter for over 30 years in BC, and have never said, nor heard any of my colleagues say: "she gone". That is a slow-moving, deep-burning typical late-season coastal fire, and when wind & slope align, produces some candling as we saw in the video. The depth of the organic fuel layers and the high drought codes force me to wonder: why are they relying on helicopters to bucket? It's a nice show for the residents down below, but is an incredible waste of money. Are they too timid to burn off from the pipeline right-of-way below the fire?
@williamthepleaser1

@@adrianwapcaplet2773 I've heard fpo's laugh when Lillooet went up in 2001-that said, it's Lillooet-you're absolutely correct in your analysis of the late season coastal fires-deep and slow. Boots on the ground and shitty 4-5 foot deep guards or letting them burn out is the only answer. A backfire would/could cause a way bigger problem or merely burn the light fuels-when it's that deep you can only dig it out or wait for snow.

Either that or fire whoever is in control of the BCWS and Conair since they can not do the job they are contracted to do and put Coulson Aviation (owner of the 2 Martin Mars Water Bombers), from BC on contract, permanently. The Coulson group has a large arsenal of Fire Fighting aircraft that include Large Water Bombers and Large Helicopters. Coulson is one of the World Leaders in Fire Fighting and Innovation, who's equipment is used in the USA, Australia and other Countries but rarely used In Canada. Coulson specializes in real Initial Attack, has Night vision, which they invented and developed and the capabilities to drop large quantities of Foam, Gel and water on fires with accuracy. Unlike Conair, who has the sole contract in BC, who has nothing even close to what Coulson has nor do they use real Initial Attack. Conair can not do the job as all the huge out of control Forest Fires the last few years has proven. I know the Flood area since my Grandparents and a couple of Aunts and Uncles had farms near the Hope Airport. Although the mountains are steep and ground crew will have a very hard time reaching the area, they are not to steep for any of Coulson's equipment, Not even the Martin Mars.

Am presently working with Apple with 3D terrain Maps with GPS Coordinates overlaid on the map with the Hot spots from the Satellites Data Overlaid on the maps. The pilots will use AR Goggles to see all the GPS coordinates on the Map. Hot spots will be picked up with Night Vision Googles, thermal hotspots can be seen from more than than 2 km away. That has been proven over and over again the last few years with all the huge out of control Forest Fires! Initial Attack needs to be brought back and the large Water Bombers and Helicopters, owned by BC's Coulson Aviation, who has a large Arsenal and the expertise needed should to be put under permanent contract to help get Forest Fires under control and out. Ground Crew and Large Air Support use to be used safely, efferently and successfully in the past and there is zero reason they can not now.
