I’m excited to see your stockings. That is going to take awhile to complete those stockings I liv3 what your children picked. That train stockings is gorgeous. I think I would pick it. I made five stockings for my son’s family but they weren’t cross stitch. It was a take off from the stockings that my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl and I’m pretty old now so my son loved them. See you tomorrow.

The thing that I would concentrate on is to make sure that they all end up as the same dimensions. Kids will complain if they are different sizes. (Even into adulthood, even if they have exactly the same stuff in)

My family picked out stockings this year too. I’m moving forward in chunks so they’ll all be done at the same time. Like, names for everyone, then the first 1/4 and swapping in and out.

I know right! I'm so excited about the stockings too. The Durene Jones penguin one will be my first one and I'll start it in January...and I think that has the most stitching so we'll see how it goes!

Artecy Cross Stitch has 2 free patterns of christmas stockings, one left and one right. With a train on them, maybe you want to look at that... This shop has every month new free patterns

I looked up Christmas Pudding on google. That's what it is. Never heard of it here in the states. Stockings sound like fun. I would do them on 14 count unless they would be huge.

Wow maybe they're more an English thing. My Dad makes Christmas puddings every second year. They take a lot of work. Sometimes the big ones have to be boiled for 8 hours. Happy Stitching :)

123 Stitch has the Train Pattern by Stoney Creek for $7.16 on sale in US dollars. I have never made a stocking but I am sure that you can do it either on 14 count or 18 count aida. Someday I would love to make a stocking but it will not be full coverage. Love all the stocking picks. Happy Stitching.

Love your stocking picks! It’s my goal this year to do my 4 grand kids a stocking but I’m not sure I’ll get them all done lol I’ve started my first which is a Durene jones pattern of a polar bear with presents I loved the colours in it. Good luck with yours!❤️

I think you can do it on any count you want to but it depends on what finish size you want when it is done. I started my first one this year but have only gotten a few stitches in. I watched a lot of videos of The Traveling Stocking Stitcher on flosstube. She is amazing at them. I bet if you asked her the questions she could answer you.

If you stitch the penguins on a blue fabric, then you wouldn't have to stitch the background. If it has fractional, then an evenweave would be easier. With Pattern Keeper, you may need to split the pdf to be just the key and the single page pattern.

Hi Adelaide! I love the stockings your family picked out. In fact, I think I have all but the train one, but I haven't gotten around to stitching any of those yet. The Glissengloss is blending filament, and I think they were bought out by Kreinik. I believe the color numbers correspond to Kreinik numbers, but I'm not positive. However, Kreinik has recently been bought out by Rainbow Gallery, so I don't know if the numbers will stay the same. One other tip--the one you chose, the Lucy Heaton one with the Polar bears--doesn't have a name on the top, so be sure to allow enough fabric to add your name. --Deb

Hi Adelaide, I'm pretty sure you can just select which pages you do want to upload into PK. Not sure if it's in the advanced options. (i have done it for a chart before). Not long to go now!

Usually I can but for some reason that didn't come up with this pattern. I'll update the tablet and try it again. If not, I guess I'll be stitching from a pdf reader. It might be better with the fractional and backstitch :)
