Clear barricades, rumble, and anything you can. It'll help you not get stuck during fights. Stockpile what resources you can using the built stockpiles, then store things you can't in to chests. Repair every statue you find, they drop gold coins sometimes and give much needed blueprints for things. The oven allows you to make food you can take on the go. Shrines statuettes are often found in the area around them. Just search chests or break down furniture. Orc chests are opened with the key dropped from the Totem in the middle of the camp, it also respawns the camp if it's not destroyed.

Search the area around your base for more statues you can rebuild. They will unlock the first armour set. There's plenty of places you haven't explored yet around your base. Go around off camera and break everything to gather resources. Put pallets down to store the resources. Do this before trying to continue with main storyline. You can make outposts anywhere. Find or make a hearth, put sleeping bag down, outpost done. Elven wood is easy, go to the Elven area (where the great forge is) and cut down the trees. Hope this helps.

You picked up the elven wood from the floor at the foresty area directly past the wooden barricade, where the bear was to the right and to the left where you walked over the stone 'bridge' near the waterfall. But I'm guessing, since it was indeed an elven area, that if you cut the trees at that place, they will probably also drop the elven wood.

When you tunnel through a dirt section, build yourself a couple platforms and dig well off the floor. That way you can quickly leave threats behind without bringing them home with you. :)

Hi Kage, just some tips: You can now craft Steel ingots since you have repaired the Forge. You can make these in the normal furnace too, no need to do that in the forge. I fought the horde in the Forge room itself and it's doable with the iron sword :) The new recipe for the axe you got by repairing the statue is not a two handed. But it is the same as the sword so not really worth it unless you want to have an 1h axe for a weapon. The charged attack is cool though. You can make a workbench now with the Elven wood, which you gather from trees in the Elven Quarter. You probably picked it up when a tree was destroyed by someone else. Then you can make a 25 slot backpack. You'll need hide; which those lama-deer things drop. Also the pick-axe does more damage then the 'normal axe' so I wouldn't even bother carrying around the axe anymore from the moment you got a steel pick axe. Even wood related stuff. There are two camps you can repair (that I know of) in the Elven Quarter, I suggest you move base already to the Elven Quarter because that's a spot you'll be at for a while now. Do repair all the stone statues in the previous area Western Halls/Westgate so you can get recipes for gloves and armor. It will make a big difference so you don't have to go back home after one fight. When you have no recipes left to get from the statues, you'll get coin instead when you repair them and that's when you'll know. The game loop here imo is to gather all recipes/resources from a 'main area', build up your gear/weapons/stockpile and then progress to the next main part and rinse and repeat. And off course have lots of fun along the way 😋 EDIT: To unlock Orkish Chests, players need an Orc Key, which can be easily obtained by breaking the wooden totem next to the chest using a pickaxe. Once the totem is destroyed, any Orcs and Goblins surrounding it disappear instantly, allowing players to quickly open Orkish Chests without engaging in unnecessary combat. Each Orkish Chest typically contains 1-3 Black Diamonds.

Black diamonds won’t be there till after you have at least entered the mines I think. If they appear in elven quarter chests the RNG must be incredibly low because I never got one till at least into the mines.

Hold attack for power attack , very useful when go again more than one enemy. Press attack when hold shield up will turn to shield charge, which knock down goblin and humanoid goblin, attack with axe also stagger them . Knocked down tree by provoking the bear to charge at you is genius, much faster than using axe .

Keep at minimum 20 woodscraps and stone on your inventory, and make a meal just before you sleep, so you have food when you wake up. That way you leave camp without starving. 💪

Dont forget to light the braizers to help with the lighting the areas, like at 8:00 for example

Use the pickaxe where you'd normally use an axe for trees. For instance, you can knock down the wooden barrier to the elven area with a pick axe, not with an axe. Knock down elven trees for elven wood. You're going to want to clear the Uruk-hai out of the elven area as well, hold mouse button for power attack when you do, they take 2 power hits to down. After they're dead, knock down the big effigy in the area, it's their spawner. They come back if you leave it, and it also has the chest keys. None of this is in the tutorial that I could find.

Tharkûn was Gandalf's Dwarven name. Thrain would probably be the father of Thorin Oakenshield, he is the one that gave Gandalf the map and key that leads to the events of The Hobbit. Dwarves where actually part of Nordic beliefs, Tolkien took a lot of inspiration from Norse Mythology. I believe the Dwarfs forged Mjolnir (just check its was a Dwarf named Sindri)

Thrain I was the founder of the Kingdom of Erebor (first King under the Mountain). Thrain II was the father of he who was called Oakenshield (coincidentally, also was Thorin II)

You`re leaving behind lots of materials. You can destroy many objects on the way (use the pickaxe for that - not the axe). Also - very important: don`t forget to repair the statues. `Can't wait to see your buildings. I very much appreciate your planning and aesthetics concerns. :)

You can set up a new camp anywhere. Pick a building and fortify it.

Always travel with a full stack (99) of stone, then you can repair statues without looking for a place to mine it. Also you should make a 2nd camp as close to the great forge as you can.

You dont even need the Great forge after you start it. You can do everything at your normal base after starting it. I made a second base in the Mines of Moria.

@@thrugai I may be the one mistaken, I'm not to the part with Master works yet but everything else I can craft at the normal forges so far. That's why I replied. I was wondering what the point of firing it up was when I can make everything at the other forges. It stuck out to me when I was playing. Edit: I got a few Master work pieces to craft now and that seems to be the only ones that have to be crafted there. You craft them once and you are done.

You did what I did run until you realize it's time to die. I went inside my base got naked and went out and died. The only difference is I had moved my base up closer to the forge and didn't have far to run away from the Horde.

Surprised you did not realize you were in Horde mode, the ones you fought closer to home base were Goblins, the ones in the Elven area were Orcs and you probably would not have damaged them without the Steel weapons.

Smart monkey use brain work, I found if you stack 2 low barriers left of the first base doorway on exit, to the hearth placement limit between the firm wall and the pillar, then clear outside the pillar of debris and you run the outside line to come in. The hordes are too dumb to path after you except for the bats, which are easy through the doorway. I just go to sleep, the horde buggers off, only occasionally breaking the barriers, which I just replace on my way out. I haven't had an enemy in my base since. clear and use barriers along the whole shelf so the archers don't strike your main walls.

Elven wood is the trees outside...chop em down

The Elven Quarter is the only place with the trees that drop Elven wood. If you base out of Narvi's forge you can gather the fallen elven wood every day. But if you cut trees down you may get more wood initially, but there will be no more drops so you will never get any more after that. It is a limited resource, you need to preserve the trees to be abke to get the most from it.
