Fr Mike "this road can be rough" now you have got me thinking about roads! actually after I had listened to this I started to sing a chorus I learned in Sunday School, the first line is ' I met Jesus at the crossroads'🚶♀ Picking up the theme, I thought which road am I on. There is a great song by The Eagles called The long road out of Eden, essentially it is about the US and the Iraq war, none the less it makes an interesting listen, and yes it is a long road out of Eden.🌴 So I am not on that Damascus road where Paul had his dramatic conversion, not much drama in my life thank God, lets keep walking ... the road to Mandalay where the poet remembers the love he discovered here, can't say this road is mine either, lets keep walking....the Appian way, the Roman military road, no, spared any war zones, lets keep walking...the yellow brick road, never been to Ireland, don't have any silver shoes and those Munchkins would get my nerves, lets keep walking...I think I have been on the Emmaus road. I grew up going to church, left in my late teens, went back when I was 27, and have been searching the scriptures ever since on 'things concerning himself'❤

Like many cradle Catholic families from the 50’s, our Bible at home had cobwebs, although I can’t be certain because I never saw it. So, at 70 yrs of age,I’m grateful to have found my way back to the church and to have finally gone through the Bible. I don’t retain much info, and I got honestly bored with books of names and numbers, but keeping things in perspective of the BIG picture, I stuck with it ---like all ofYOU out there.

Father Mike I hope you have some idea of what this blessed Bible study has done across the world. When you stoped during your prayer on Jan 27 to feel the need to pray for parents who have lost children, parents who cannot conceive and all who are experiencing childlessness in some form. The past 3 Mondays 3 miracle babies resulted from those prayers and God heating and answering. First girl born October 18, second girl born October 25 and a boy born Nov 1 on all Saints day. I have very strong ties to all 3 and we prayed that day along with the millions worldwide and God not only granted this miracle and all mothers and babies healthy. Praise God and May God continue to pour out His blessings on you faithful servant. 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻✝️💗💗💙

November 1, 2023 I am looking for people to please take a moment and pray with me for Souls in Purgatory. Can you help? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

I pray this prayer everyday: The Heroic Act….. O Holy and Adorable Trinity, desiring to co-operate in the deliverance of the souls in Purgatory, and to testify my devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, I give up and renounce in behalf of those holy souls all the satisfactory part of my works, and all the suffrages which may be given to me before and after my death, consigning them entirely into the hands of the most Blessed Virgin, that she may apply them according to her good pleasure to the souls of the faithful departed whom she desires to deliver from their suffrages. Deign, O God, to accept and bless this offering which I make to Thee, Amen

Hey Father Mike! Love what you are doing. I have a small suggestion. I had highlighted my Bible with all the Daily/Sunday readings a couple of years ago, so when I follow along with you I see what the Church chose to emphasize. It's amazing if you just read them in order you get the highlights of the story. You think maybe some wise people thought of that way before me? Maybe. :) In any case, next time the Great Adventure Bible is published, maybe do that and highlight the readings/Lectionary. I think others would find it helpful as I did/do. The exercise of just doing it was also very beneficial. Just a thought. Maybe put a bug in Jeff's ear. Thanks for all you do!

@brianmelville520Ай бұрын
I think "the old is revealed in the new". The old arc of the covenant had to be replaced by the new arc of the new covenant. And replaced it was. It is now in its right place, it is in the heavenly temple. St. John saw it.
