I love the encounter between Jesus and Zacchaeus (Zac) AKA ‘Just like us’. The Sycamore Tree (Seek-Him-More). This tree is known for it’s rough and prickly bark not at all fun to climb, however this tree resembled the life that Zac lived. A rough and sinful life that no one sought after. Yet, Zac chose this tree to get a better glimpse of Jesus. Regardless on which tree we have climbed/chosen, we are still on His Radar/Sight. The ironic command that Jesus gave Zac, was to come down QUICKLY. Can’t imagine of the cuts and bruises Zac must have got in the process. Zac was very short in stature. The Bible says “We have all sinned and fallen short”… We, like Zac have to disembark that sinful life and invite Jesus into our lives… for He says, “I stand at the door and knock, whoever hears my voice and opens the door for me, I will enter and sup with him”.

I am close to becoming a Catholic and will receive Eucharistic on the eve of Easter. I looked up the word genuflex and found Father Mike. I will begin following his pod cast. I have been learning about the importance of Eucharist and my first communion. I have become excited and nervous at the same time. I have many things I would love to share. I only decided to become a Catholic a few months ago. I have been on a journey to find Jesus for two years. It was a little over a month ago that I actually came to the reality that Jesus is the Mesia, he is the one. I have believed for two years when I was born again but it was just by faith. For two years I have been faithful working on getting closer to God, then Jesus gave me the answer to a question I have often asked and with that answer I have gone from believing with faith to believing with knowledge and pure understanding that Jesus was who he said he was. The question I asked, and yours may be different, was when Jesus was dragging the cross to be crucified how come not one of his disciples tried to help him. Peter even denied him, three times. These were men who saw him do countless miracles and were shown glimpses of heaven and proclaimed him to be the "One" yet they ran and hid to protect their own lives. This always was something I never understood. I believed by faith yet they were with Jesus and saw all his wonder. So recently, as I have been knocking on the door, it opened and I was given the answer and it changed my whole perception of my relationship with Jesus. The answer was that Jesus appeared to the disciples resurrected and Thomas even doubted until he saw Jesus and believed. This is not the answer to my question. It was not believing that convinced me. It is what came after. The disciples were not outwardly brave and ran and hid and locked themselves away because they were afraid of what would happen to them if they were found out to be disciples of Jesus. However after they encountered Jesus resurrected they changed. They were not afraid to go out and preach and teach the Word and proclaim Jesus as the Son of God even knowing death was going to be a very real out come of this action. Many excepted death and none ran an hid when death came. All professed, Jesus was the Mesia and did not take the option to deny him to avoid their death. They were not afraid and were without doubt and would not run and hid. Their new conviction was my answer. This answer was always right in front of me, but I am learning as I go. Everything in the Bible has a meaning , a purpose and a message. This is the knocking on the door Jesus is referring to. Two years I searched before he gave me my answer. Now to the next stage. I now have my answer it is not just by faith but fact that Jesus is the Son of God and now I will work on doing, as my Savior requested, to follow him and seek the narrow path. I hope this helps someone who takes the time to read it Amen

Welcome to the fullness of the faith William! I'm glad that you are now experiencing Jesus in a new and fresh way, in the Eucharist. Yes, Jesus' disciples fled from him in his time of need. However, I would also remind the next inquisitive soul that John the Beloved, Mary Magdeline, and the Blessed Virgin Mary stood near him while he was dying on the cross. They risked their lives to be with him...their love for him was profound. God bless you brother!

The synchronicity of God's timing when you walk with Him is friggin' crazy. He told me to give you my heart today during the virtual mass when you were in persona christi. So, yeah, I don't know if these podcasts are pre-made and/or are just re-played or what but the timing of them are pretty immaculate. 'One in the hand is worth two in the bush', so, I'm thinking two in the chest have to be worth a lot more, right? I wasn't sure where else I was supposed to put it:t Thank you. And, to add, I can't tell you how much it meant to pray with you in that moment. It was a gift of grace and mercy that I am eternally grateful for. There was a lot of depth and spiritual energy surrounding it. So, a special thank you for that, too. Thank you.

According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Millstones!; why must the Church have a millstone around her neck for the most wretched deeds done by leaders and laity of the her. I watched a documentary of a woman who was repeatedly sexually abused by her priest and prefect in school. It was most sickening to hear the accounts. Now when I hear the accusations of non and ex Catholics I cringe. What have I to do with the temporal punishment of others? How is it when one of us egregiously sin we all suffer from that sin. I grieve so intense it's like I myself were violated. Pray for the Church to overcome this damage that the enemy has done. NO MORE MILLSTONES!!!

I see Justin Welby (Arch bishop of Canterbury C of E) has just resigned, because of the abuse scandal of a barrister who used to help out at church camps. He would whip confessions out of the young men, beggars belief how they think they will get away with it, especially in this day and age. The compulsion to do wrong must some how override their thinking. So sad when they are in that position of trust.

I m moving in a place in pennsylvania ave so I can ride a bike to white house, my intercession continues. Resume my passing this question I Left the church and I came back. I've been back fifteen months now . Do recent I left in the first place. I did not know what I believed I just call myself catholic by name Now 0:20 i'm a practicing catholic. I didn't realize what that Means Go to Mass every sunday holy Of obligation. Taking the holy communion . Every sunday. Going to Confession once a month what shall I do Unless something comes up and I have a mortal sin And I take care of that. So i'm gonna have to get to Tuesday because I committed immortal sin. To reason I didn't go to confession yet. Because my car is in the shop I had no way to get there Because i'm senior citizen I take the care car . That is wonderful How they help senior citizens City world of to get help. I take the church van Two church.

What is a sluggard?
@annmariem32362 жыл бұрын
I think it means one who is lazy... "Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways and be wise. Without having any chief, officer or ruler, she prepares her food in summer, and gathers her sustenance in harvest. How long will you lie there, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a vagabond, and want like an armed man." (Proverbs 6:6-11)

In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you.
